It does not have a built-in stylus, but neither did it when it was brand new. You can get a simple rubber tipped stylus for around $5. You can get an active pencil stylus from Lenovo for around $25.

There is only one ssd slot for storage. To upgrade you have to remove the ssd installed, and put in the new one. You should also look into cloning options and backup options before proceeding with the upgrade.

The screen is 15.6" on a diagonal. Most bags advertised for
"15.6inch" laptops will fit such laptops. Find one that she
will like.

Can this laptop handle a lightweight photoshop? 16 y/o niece has been enjoying graphics class at school. For her first laptop, would this handle a lightweight photoshop?

I would suggest considering the program Lightroom.
This laptop meets the minimum hardware requirements for this program. This laptop does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for the more demanding program Photoshop. For that you would need a laptop with a Core i5 processor.
