Sorry, but must ask this again as it was not addressed by a previous reply. Other than the number of handsets, are there any significant feature differences between KX-TGD862 and KX-TGD863? If so, can I get a KX-TGD863 with only 2 handsets?
The only difference between them is the color scheme. If you prefer the color scheme of the KX-TGD863, I believe you have no choice but to accept it with 3 handsets. Having a spare could be a good thing.

I bought this product, filled it up and works great. Now that the water needs to be refilled, I’m have issues twisting the cap off, it’s completely stuck and I’m not sure how to refill it without removing the cap. What do I need to do?
It sounds like you either put the cap on too tight, or cross threaded it when you put it on. I think you will have to use brute force turning the cap counterclockwise. After filling the tank, take care putting the cap back on - making certain
it threads properly when you tighten it clockwise, but not too tight.
