Out of the box, the picture was poor of quality with the standard setting. Faces were washed out with no detail. I tried adjusting contrast, sharpness and brightness with very minimal improvement. I tried other picture settings and found cinema to improve the picture to an acceptable degree. However, upon trying other settings, I found the HDR effect to give the most natural looking picture. I initially avoided trying it as these type of settings are sometimes gimmicky on a non-4K source. I was pleasantly surprised And highly recommend this setting; nothing gimmicky looking about it. My only complaint is that the remote is very small with very small buttons and not intuitive or egronomic. Overall this is an excellent value.

The audio is hard to follow due to the overwhelming background music drowning it out. Maybe if I could have followed the dialog, the story would have made more sense. There are no subtitles to help, The picture is fine for a B&W movie but the format choice is a little odd. I like quirky movies but couldn't follow this one.

Both audio and video quality are excellent. The thing that makes this movie most interesting is the way individual stories are woven into the main story line. It uses the individual veterans' lifelong traumatic effects of experiencing the inhumanity of war to emphasize the severity of corruption in the main story line. Well acted and a story very effectively told.

This an unvarnished look at the horrors of war. The dilemmas faced are gut wrenching. The obstacles the star had to overcome are hard to watch and not watch at the same time. The video quality is outstanding. This movies sound-track is best enjoyed on a high-end surround system as that really adds to the impact of the movie. A story well told that exposes the moral dilemma of war more than the false glory.

I wasn't sure about watching a subtitled movie as it can be distracting. It wasn't and the movie just pulls you right in. It has a very twisted, unpredictable plot. It ends in a very different place from where it started. A refreshing change from the worn out Hollywood formula. Recommended for everyone but small children.

This is a very well done movie about the rise and fall of a demagogue. Everybody should see this especially during an election year. Andy Griffith does an outstanding job; arguably his best acting ever by him. Criterion did a wonderful job of preserving the video and audio. Highly recommended!

This is an entertaining movie but is somewhat disjointed . It kept me interested but didn't really flow as it could have. The video quality is excellent and the sound tack has great surround effects. There are the obligatory bloody action scenes that are to be expected in all Tarantino movies. There is a story line but it goes off course often. Still kept me looking forward to what was next.

I'm not a great fan of comic book, super hero action movies. But reviews convinced me to try this one. This is not about super heroes at all; there are none in the movie. It is instead about how the Joker became the villain. It is told in an, unfortunately, believable way. There should be a lesson here about how to treat others. There are multiple layers of mistreatment on display that unfold throughout the movie. Joaquin Phoenix does a great job in his role. The visuals and soundtrack suck you in to the story rather than blast you with over the top action. Well done!

This is a very entertaining movie in many ways. First it is a true story told in a comprehensive manner. It is an historically accurate depiction of something that really happened presented in an exciting and, sometimes breathtaking, manner. The visuals are excellent and the surround soundtrack will test your sound system to your amazement. The acting is top rate too. Christian Bale does an outstanding job with his role. Great movie for us gearheads and anyone else who likes believable action movies.

My old XM receiver died after several years of good service and I needed to replace it. I wanted a portable unit because I have 2 places I use it. I found this one on the Best Buy website and thought it would suit my needs. It sounds a little harsh when first turned on but gets better after being on for a few minutes. This is not my daily source of music so it doesn't get used very often. It is simple to move from one location to another. It is easy to operate and, in fact, has more features than I need. I only gave it 4 stars because of the harsh sound at start-up.

I am looking for a Sirius unit that I can connect with my home Yamaha receiver so that I can use my speakers. Which model do you recommend? I already have Sirius in my car.
Most Sirius/XM receivers can be used as a home unit connected to a home receiver. Depending on what the sirius receiver came with, you may need a 1/8" mini-jack to RCA stereo cable and a power supply that can adapt to your Sirius receiver. The car adapter plugs into a 12 volt power port that can be plugged into your homes power outlet. The 1/8" to RCA cable goes from the Sirius receiver to a stereo input on your home receiver. I'm using one this way and it works fine. You will also need an antenna that you can use indoors. There may be a home kit that contains all you need depending on which Sirius/XM receiver you buy.

I am splitting from a FireStick to a projector and a TV. Would I get audio on both devices or just image?
The splitter puts out both audio and video from both HDMI out ports. I have mine hooked up to 2 TVs and both get audio and video. If i am watching on one TV and turn on the other. there will be a short (few seconds) loss of connection while the other connection is made.Then both work at once with no degradation of signal.
