A very versatile appliance. Shelves can be adjusted to accommodate various sized items, there is plenty of room for everything. The crisper bins are easily placed for access, the snack tray is a great addition. The lighting is excellent, nothing is missed. The top tray in the freezer is handy for those items used frequently, or for ones that are small and might be buried in the bottom, or items that need to be protected from weight, etc. Ice and water function is good: I like the size which is smaller than one I had previously. Plenty of door bins, not even using all of them yet. The French door style makes storing large items so easy. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase.

Has Samsung fixed the problems with the ice maker?

I believe the problem with the ice maker is not "fixable". It concerns the method for removing the ice maker in order to empty it's contents rather than getting the ice through the dispenser in the door. It is very difficult to do, practically impossible. Very poor design.

Gallon Jugs

Can it hold gallon milk jugs in the door compartments? When I looked at this model at the store, the door storage looks a little small.

You can put gallon jugs in the door bins, however it is not recommended as opening the door often may let the milk get too warm.

Does this model have an ice maker inside of the freezer also, or just an in the door ice dispenser?

The model I have does not have another ice maker inside the bottom freezer.

my space has a wall to the left of appliance. will I be able to open bins inside due to door can only open straight

I have this same situation. My previous refrigerator was a side by side. I have pulled the refrigerator out further from the back wall to get as much room as possible to open the left side door. It is enough to access the crisper and the remove the ice maker. I also have it moved as far to the right side as possible and we do have some extra inches in that dimension, which is one reason we chose this model.

does the flex zone freeze items

No, the flex zone cannot freeze items. The range of temps can be seen by touching each of the four categories.

How do you remove the icemaker?

There is a latch on the underside of the ice maker in the main refrigerator. Push up on that latch while lifting upward on the whole unit (using both hands) and pull it outward. It really works pretty easily once you get the hang of it.
