Does this player have a hold button to keep your place .

It has a HOLD button, but it won't keep the CD track in place. The HOLD button is so that tyou don't waste batteries by inadvertently turning on the player when you didn't mean to.

What size ac/dc adapter does it use? Thanks

None. It just uses two Double AA batteries.

does this wallet protect credit cards?

It COULD, but the cards MIGHT slide out. I would recommend just an ordinary card holder for your cards.
