After trying a couple cheaper brands of pro controllers that failed after short use, I paid the extra for the Nintendo brand. It is better constructed, and works great the old saying you get what you pay for, applies here.

Would this need to be plugged in mext to the router? Or in the area where the connection is needed?
You need to plug it in close to the router only for setup, and don't be alarmed it may take several attempts to get it to connect to your router, be patient. You can then move it somewhere around the half way mark between the router and the device with the weak connection. We are very pleased with our results, buffering when streaming movies has dropped to almost zero.
