To amplify my wifi through the house helped dramatically. Occasionally still get a weak signal on my main router (fios) but far more range even outdoors.

Too many issues with my old Onkyo. This receiver is great. May need to recheck my +/- wiring of speakers or upgrade them. Clean sound at higher setting. 5.1 set up but have option to add power sub and wireless speakers. Getting a bit of static possibly from satalite?

HOW CLOSE TO THE ROUTER DOES THE WIFI EXTENDER HAVE TO BE ,
I have many walls in my home, but I'm able to amplify my wifi on opposite ends of house now and even outdoors. I installed this about half way into the house from the outer corner of opposite side of my house...aprox. 140 ft.range can now pickup out in my shed and garage.

Do you need to run a CAT5 Ethernet cable between the router and the Wi-Fi extender? What is the max distance the Wi-Fi extender can be away from the router?
Ethernet cable not necessary unless you desire a direct connect. Back bedroom is router, 1000 ft. away is this device. I now have wifi in garage and backyard.
