I purchased this as a replacement for the same product whose warranty had expired before the scanner in the lid for transparencies ceased to function. Yet it was worth the risk to buy another while considering its price and capabilities. I was disappointed that there is no way to force the lid scanner to acknowledge the presence of an extremely overexposed slide, so it was impossible to correct the image by making subsequent manual adjustments.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So this is just a scanner and not a printer? If it prints what does it take for Ink???

It is NOT a printer, but can send images directly to a printer.

Has anyone tried to scan coins on this?

I need an excellent scanner to upload scans of coins to the internet . They must show every detail of the coin. Will this work ?

I HAVE MANY OLD 2 1/4 SLIDES, MOUNTED MEASURING 2 3/4 SLIDES. CAN I SCAN THE MOUNTED SLIDES AS THEY ARE OR DO I HAVE TO USE THE UNMOUNTED SIZE? THX'

Slides must fit into one of four 2" x 2" holes in a provided plastic template. Another template for what the manual calls "medium format film" allows an area 2 1/4" x 8 5/8" to be scanned with 1/8" unscanable margin top and bottom used to secure the film.

This scanner will turn negatives into photos on your computer and then you can print them out on a printer of choice???? I just want to make sure its just not going to scan the negatives, i want something that will turn them into the photo they are......

Yes. But if you have some other scanner that makes only negative images of negatives, I recommend IrfanView which easily does the conversion and is free for non-commercial use.

Will the Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner allow me to scan directly to a USB drive? I do not have a computer; but have a lot of old photos I want to save.

No, it has a USB cable that must be connected to a computer loaded with Epson Scan software.
