Purchased in store for the total lunar eclipse as an emergency alternative of my telescope(my telescope broke the day before the eclipse). Another option is to get the 70-300mm which is quite a “meh.” The FX format of 70-300mm is 600 buck and for 300 more you can get this one: from wide-angle (28mm) to telephoto (300mm), at 300mm (the maximum aperture at this length is 5.6) is sharp enough to capture the moon! Here I upload some photos I took for the eclipse.
This is a nice lens to have in your collection and for $300 more you get the quality much better than the plastic 70-300mm. And you won’t risk return it back because of the 15% restocking fee (if I chose the 70-300mm I might end up returning it). It also replaced my 105mm macro lens.
Overall, if you are looking for a all-in-one travel lens or you just want one lens to do all the jobs, this is the one you go to. Other than the 70-300mm, this is the cheapest option to get you to 300mm focal length.
I would recommend this to a friend!

nikon lens

when buying a Nikon lens in 28-300mm for my d600 how do I know the lens will be an fx lens??
If the lens body doesn’t say “DX” then it is a FX format lens.
I use this on D810. It is a FX lens and will fits D600.

Regarding AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm, The Nikon site says that it is compatible with D810, but in the Best Buy site it is not listed as compatible. Why?

Because Best Buy don’t update their website.
I have D810 and the lens works perfectly well.
All Nikon f mount lens works on any Nikon cameras after 1959.

Capture high-quality professional images with this Tamron SP 70-200mm zoom lens. The telephoto lens is compact enough to stow with other lenses and is compatible with Nikon full-frame and DSLR cameras. This Tamron SP 70-200mm zoom lens offers a faster auto-focus speed than previous models and Vibration Compensation for blur-free shots.

Does this lens compatible with my nikon d5600?

Theoretically it should fit on d5600 because Nikon use F mount for all its camera after 1959. But d5600 is DX format which has cropped sensor, and this lens is for FX format (full frame sensor). Using a FX lens on DX body will get you a 1.5X view. For the price I won’t recommend using this lens on a DX body at all I’d rather go for the DX format 70-300mm which is much much much cheaper ($399) than this one.

Is this lens compatible with the Nikon 3200?
