It works really well. One thing I did learn is you sign into your account on another device it may take up to 24 hours before it recognizes your account. I had that trouble with this device. I talked to Geek squad AND to Apple Customer service and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't sign me in. Both customer service representatives really tried to help me (including Apple who i had a 45 minute conversation with and talked to a manager as well). I looked at it 24 hours later and was able to get into my account. So if anyone else has that same problem just give it 24 hours then try again.

Does this dvd player have a display on front that tells you how far in to a dvd you are?
No unfortunately it doesn’t have a display in the front to tell you how far into the dvd you are at. What I can say this particular dvd player is a good one to get. I use these dvd players every day almost 24 hours a day 7 days a week and it will last a good 2 to 4 years for me.
