Does exactly what it is supposed to do. It allows multiple devices to be plugged into the same network. Being unmanaged it is pretty much passive and just shares the signal as needed. If i were to buy again i might choose one with more ports. Seems like you can always find more things to plug in!

after doing basic research of types and user reviews i settled on the Google WiFi 3-puck pack. These wireless access points allow you to 'repeat' your WiFi signal wirelessly or by back-hauling them with Ethernet cable. I choose to wire them. Set-up was relatively easy, i did follow another users advice by setting up 2nd and 3rd pucks wirelessly initially then plugging them into the network. My WiFi signal is strong all around the house and the mesh is great because we don't jump from one network to another, like previously with WiFi extenders. These pucks just sit there with their little glowing band of light and push out plenty of signal. We are not high end streamers of content, just web surfing and social media type things, we do use sling tv and have had no issues with watching anything. For casual users i like it. I would add one more puck in my shop if they weren't so expensive indivdiually.

The description says "Unmanaged". What is being managed or not in the various switches? Of the 4 I looked at, 2 say "unmanaged".

Managed switches give you more control over your LAN traffic and offer advanced features to control that traffic. An unmanaged switch simply allows Ethernet devices to communicate with one another, such as a PC or network printer, and those are typically what we call “plug and play.”
Unmanaged versus Managed Switches - Cisco https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/switches/networking_solutions_products_genericcontent0900aecd806c7afe.pdf

Basically all these ports are the same, kinda like putting 5 straws into the same cup. everyone has the same opportunity to get the data whereas a manged switch allows you to set priority or control the data flow.

use this switch if your just need more ports, if your modem only has one prt but you need to hook up multiple devices..plug one port from this to the modem then all the remaining ports get the same data from the modem, basically just sharing the plug.

Do any of the ports support Power over Ethernet? I have a couple of PoE devices that I’d like to connect.

To answer your question NO.

That is not how PoE works.

In my experience PoE is a way of powering a device so that you do not need a power adapter and a receptacle to plug it in. There is a PoE converter that plugs into your power source that should have 2 ethernet plugs on it, one is input and one is powered output. You would use a patch cable to come out of this switch and go to the input of your PoE converter then another patch cable from the output side to your device that you are trying to PoE. You do not run form the PoE converter into the switch.
