Use this switch to connect my Netgear MR 1100 to my wife's computer and telephone communication devices. Very simple for me to setup and I am not a technical guy.

Our home is in a rural area with poor cellular reception and no internet service other than satellite that is very poor at best. We installed a cellular booster that did give us reliable and much faster cellphone service. 4 bars;of 5g inside, still dead areas outside. We bought a Netgear MR 1100 Nighthawk that is fantastic but I wanted stronger coverage inside our 1700 ft house and outside as well. I bought the Netgear wifi 6 Mesh Extender and it is AWESOME! It not only extended our coverage in the home but also distances from 80-90 ft outside! We have a dedicated data only line from T-Mobile 100GB that is very affordable. I've read that range extenders do not boost signal strength. This may be but my average download speed has went from a highly variable 18 mb/s to a steady 46 mb/s. Maybe not game playing speeds but fast enough to stream movies, zoom meetings for my work at home wife and great voice communication. The Netgear products Just Work! Oh, btw I'm not tech savy so had to call for assistance to set up both my Netgear devices. They were very patient and walked me through every step. Great products and excellent service!

We have a very weak signal. It was difficult to get a reliable cell connection outdoors let alone inside our metal roofed home. Readings outdoors ranged from 118 - 124. We could get a fairly reliable 1 bar on the end of our house toward the nearest tower. Very dense forest separated the two. Being 72 it took me about 4 hours to install the Home Room booster. We now have reliable 3-4 bar service in our home and our hotspot is amazing as well. The signal strength does start to fade when more than 25 ft away but I have not dropped a call anywhere in our 1600 sqft home since installing. Go for the multiroom version if your house is larger.
Ha it was rainy and cold I don't know why the photo is green.

I have an ORBI that is plugged into my modem. My ORBI only has 1 ethernet port to it. Would this work if I use this plugged into my ORBI?

I used this for connecting other devices to a single Ethernet port on my Netgear Nighthawk MR1100 hotspot router. Works perfectly.

This might seem silly but what does the outside antenna do?? Or more appropriately why do we need 2 antennas?? Thank you for clarification on this. I realize its time to get one because my service provider is not really adressing the main issue.

It receives your weak outdoor signal. The booster amplifies the signal that is then sent to your indoor antenna for distribution in your home. Hope this helps.

Will this work with my iPad, I use my iPad for streaming e-learning for my kids. It is taken from a T-Mobile signal, cellular signal.

I have t mobile my wife has verizon. Both our internet and hotspot streaming has improved dramatically. We had poor signal quality in our area. If you already have a good reliable signal you may not notice much difference.

How hard is it to install?

If you are comfortable with basic hand tools and possibly working from a ladder then it's not too difficult. Allow yourself a good block of time. I am elderly but have done a lot of wiring and home repairs over the years. I'd rate this at about a 4 on a 1-10 scale
