Yes, you will need to plug the microphone into its own port. if your PC supports a shared port for Audio in and out then it will support a 3.5mm cable with 3 contacts on it and you'd need an adapter that looks like the first image below with the green, pink, and black ends. Note that you will need to find out if your device supports one of these, if it's a laptop it likely will, if it's a desktop then it probably has individual audio in and out ports so just plug them into the right ones (see the TH image I attached, generally green = audio out (Headphones) and pink = audio in (Mic)). having said all that, if you want to for sure hook things up right just get a USB sound card, they don't have to be expensive and if you're trying to hook them into the front of your PC there are generally USB ports there. The 3rd image will show a standard USB sound card and Best Buy sells them and I put them as product 1 below (Juke) or if you want a nicer one with controls on it then see product 2 below (HyperX) as both will do fine. Once they're connected you'll just wanna swap the input and outputs to the new device by right-clicking on your audio icon (Pictured below with the red arrow pointed at it), clicking "Open Sound Settings", and selecting the new audio device (either the HyperX or Juke one) for BOTH the audio output and audio input to activate the headphones and microphone (as seen below in the settings image).
