does this come with a amplifier and a subwoofer.

The amplifier is built into the subwoofer. It takes line level inputs. It is really made for a 5.1 computer audio output, such as a SoundBlaster card.

can this connect to my apple iPhone or iPad

Carson, this is not bluetooth nor does it come with the cables or adapters you would need to hook up to an idevice. There are better option. I nice little speaker at a great price is the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom.
