It was very easy to set up. It works as advertised. Extended my wireless signal in and around the house.

As I understand it a wifi booster is its own network. How would this affect my current existing wifi network I use for cell phones and Tv?

Set up your phone to connect to both networks. There may be a setting on your phone but, typically, by default these networks will be trusted and your phone will automatically connect to the strongest signal.
