If you want ok $59 speakers and your expectations are reasonable then these are decent . Will they fill a room like the classic minimus 7's ? , Not even close ! We use ours with a personal pc and have them drivin with a Technics 50 watt amp and equalizer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can these speakers be used with a desktop computer?

Yes , but much better if you drive with a stereo amp
