This is my third iteration of this model phone, as I've replaced them (due mainly to the LCD screen failing) over the past, hmm, 15 years.
Not much has changed in the quality, design, or feature set. I'm even still using the same wall mount screws lol.
I s'pose this model would still work with land lines (haven't had one of those for quite some time LOL); I use it for VOIP connections to Vonage and Google. Works great.
Note: the older ones still worked as phones when I retired them... it's just that the segments on the various digits start to fail after several years, and I finally get tired of squinting lol.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can I connect the phone cord to a ethernet adaptor that connects to the ethernet outlet which is dedicated to my phone line? Is there an adaptor recommendation?
Although a bit unclear as phrased, I believe you're asking if you can use this phone with a VOIP connector from your VOIP provider? - If so, then the answer is yes.
(I know Vonage works fine with this phone; I've been using this and earlier versions for 15 years or so. I expect other VOIP providers allow similar functionality.)
