Easy connection with our (xfinity) internet provider. Almost a plug and play. Instructions included not very precise but modem installation and connection to internet provider is fairly intuitive. Same with changing default network name and password.
Enabled us to save the rental fees charged by Comcast. it will only take 8.5 months to recoup cost of the unit based on the rental fee charged by Comcast. Should have bought this sooner.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can you do the intial set up from a cell phone or a computer without a disc drive? Hpw east is it?

yes - Used a laptop and did not use the disc drive.

does this come with a cd disk, and if so, do I have to use it to download the new router. I have a chromebook and you can't use a disk

NO, not needed for my intended use.
