I have an older TV that has 3 HDMI ports. Unfortunately, only 1 has both audio and video capabilities (ARC). In order to listen to a variety of 7.1 options using my home theater system with my Roku stick and DVD player, I bought this audio cable and solved the problem. Now my blu ray player uses the HDMI cable and my Roku brings in digital audio with this optical cable. I connected this cable inside of 2 minutes. I should have tried this long ago.

My old player locked up and died with a John Wayne movie inside. Horrors! I immediately checked out inventory at Best Buy and purchased this model online. I started out the door and it was ready when I arrived. Took it home and had it hooked up in minutes, after all, it only had HDMI. It is a basic machine and does what I want with it (play movies). If I remember right, it was discounted $20, which made for an easy choice. BTW, I did get the movie out so JW can ride another day.

I needed to upgrade my modem and decided to buy this combination router and modem. I couldn't be happier with the reach and speed. A desktop, two laptops, tablet, two phones, printer and a roku all connect and work seamlessly together. I'm going to relocate the incoming cable to put in a more usable location which will also shorten up the cabling coming into the house. I should be good for years.
