As all Polk speakers, works like a charm. For me, sound is good enough for surround sound side speakers, or for kitchen area, or for a college students room. I used mine to build a set of smart speakers on top of my kitchen cabinets, using a wireless dac and a 60 watts amplifier.

Curious how these speakers hold up as stand alone bookshelf speakers connected to a stereo receiver since they seem to be marketed to be used as part of a full surround sound system
They are not going to be the best hifi speakers you may want for a 2.0 channels system. Range is ok, not great. I use mine in the kitchen to listen to radio news, video sound, or music while cooking, but for enjoying music I have another sound system in my livingroom with better Polk speakers from the s series.

I have a Bang and Olufsen Beogram RX2 record player. The output are phono type components (see pic). I think they're also called RCA. Can I plug these connections directly into the speakers? Or will I need an amp?
