Works well. No hidden controls. Everything you need to use all the features is on the front of the unit and easily found.
Display screen useless if you do not have Phone ID and/or not using the answering machine feature. Display hard to read unless looking straight at it.
As a basic phone, it works well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can messages on this answering machine be accessed remotely from a CELL PHONE? Thank you.

A remote phone can access the answering machine. TOUCH TONE capability is required. There may be a smart phone app that will generate the proper tones. Since I don't use this capability I am at the limit of my knowledge.

can I adjust the number of rings before I pick up the receiver? I'm generally slow to get to the phone. Eight rings would be nice before going to recorder.

The answering machine portion can be set to pick up after 7 rings (The selectable number of rings is between 2 and 7) or you can do what I did and turn the answering machine portion off. I have a separate machine and don't need two.
