The Apple USB-C-to-USB Adapter lets you connect iOS devices and many of your USB accessories to a MacBook with a USB-C port. Plug the USB-C end of the adapter into the USB-C port on your MacBook, and then connect your flash drive, camera or other standard USB device.
This little gadget is a definite must have for the Apple MacBook Air. I didn't have much experience with this particular laptop but in choosing it this adapter was a recommended accessory. So I purchased it and was certainly glad I did! I've used it many times just in the first few weeks I've had my MacBook.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Apple - MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop with Touch ID - Intel Core i3 - 8GB Memory - 256GB Solid State Drive - Gold
Available in silver, space gray, and gold, the latest MacBook Air features a stunning Retina display with True Tone technology, Touch ID, a backlit Magic Keyboard, and a Force Touch trackpad - all housed in a thin and light iconic wedge design made from 100 percent recycled aluminum.² And with 11-hour battery life, it's a do-it-all notebook that goes all day long.¹
This laptop came highly recommended and I'm really glad I purchased it. Also, having used an iPhone for many years I've come to trust Apple, I love how easy it is to navigate. I've been using it now for about a month and it's been everything I expected and more.
NETGEAR - Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender with Ethernet port

I'm using my MacBook Air in a second floor bedroom (the router is on the main floor). The wifi signal continually drops, like constantly. Would this NetGear Extender be helpful for my situation? And if so, what do I need to do to connect it?
