I bought this player because I had been pleased with an earlier version of the same model, which no longer worked, and Sony has been a reliable manufacturer. I am generally pleased but will note that there are a lot of cheaper DVD models that are all region, while this is only region 1. There was an unwelcome change when using the remote. My previous player would display both the elapsed playing time and the time remaining with a single tough of the display button on the remote; for some reason, the new version no longer displays the remaining time. On some DVD's I can check the remaining time by using the time/text button, but that varies depending on the DVD, and it takes 4 touches on the button to display the elapsed and remaining time on each scene as well as for the total disk.

I bought this receiver because of its reasonable price and phono jack. I still have a lot of LPs that are not available on CD, or I prefer not to replace with CD's. In some ways, the amp is wonderful. I connected a personal CD player with an AC/DC converter and 3.5 mm to RCA cable, and the sound is wonderful. Sound through the FM tuner is also good, even for stations a distance away. The remote has all the options I will use, plus some. But the quality of sound varies depending on the source. When I connected a turntable with RCA or Bluetooth options, the sound is not as good with either connection. And the sound was not as good when I connected a CD/DVD player via RCA. I'm not sure whether the variation is because of the amp or the components I have.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I heard about induction cooking years ago and bought this unit because it does not need a 220-volt outlet, as full-size cooktops do. But using it is not as easy as it sounded, and I apparently need a course in using induction before deciding whether I should have bought this unit. If anything, the unit heats compatible cookware too quickly. Because cast iron does not spread the heat easily, the small heating element causes oil to smoke and food to burn in the middle of a cast iron skillet. (Cooking shows preheat cast iron in an oven before frying but doing that would defeat the efficiency of the cooktop.) It has two methods for controlling heat, temperature and amps, but I have yet to figure out how to control cooking temperature with either. I am hoping that my problems are the result of not knowing how to use this technology rather than a defect in the item itself.

My ultra techie sons would not like this keyboard, which I doubt would fulfill their gaming needs, but for those of us who only need a basic keyboard, this one is great for the price. My wife actually uses it with her Fire TV; I read that USB keyboards will not work with Fire TV's, but this one works fine when connected to the TV through the USB port; is a lot easier to use than the pop up keyboards in the apps' search functions; cursor arrows are a good substitute for the navigation buttons on the remote; and it costs a lot less than the recommended bluetooth keyboards. I am sure it will not last all that long, but at $10, I don't mind replacing my keyboards when a key stops working after a couple years.

I was pleasantly surprised by the good sound from these speakers, as compared to the speakers that came with my computers, and they work really well to amplify music from a personal CD player or MP3 player without having to channel the signal through an audio system.

I am sure that fanatic audiophiles will turn up their noses at this turntable, but it is a godsend for those of us who built LP collections in our youth and want to keep our collection in good shape without spending a small fortune. It can connect to a receiver via RCA cable, or to bluetooth speakers for those who don't have a receiver or believe in everything bluetooth. It also has its own 3.5 mm headphone jack (which I doubt I will ever use). I really like that it has a switch allowing connection to a receiver that does not have a dedicated phono jack, if my elderly receiver with such a jack ever dies. The limitations are ones I can easily live with in return for good quality at a reasonable price. The stylus obviously is not "high end," but is much better than in those that come with typical all-in-one systems or cheap "retro" boxes, and the adjustable tracking weight will keep my LP's in good condition (to the extent they still are). It is semi-automatic rather than full automatic, but I can put the needle on the record so long as it shuts itself off automatically at the end. (Unlike my old turntables, the power apparently does not turn off completely when the turntable stops spinning; the speed control has an "off" position to avoid standby power when not in use). It takes a little bit of care to assemble the stylus and tracking weight, but the instructions on how to do so were detailed and clear.

This TV is generally a good value for its cost. The picture quality is very good for basic video and streaming. It is HD, not full HD, but the difference is not noticeable for this size of monitor. The sound was adequate; a basic soundbar was a major improvement, and there is a HDMI port specifically designed for soundbars. There are sufficient inputs for connecting components, such as soundbar and DVD or Blu Ray player. I had read that a USB keyboard would not work, but we connected one to the USB port, and it works just fine on those apps that support a keyboard. The problems we have had are with the apps rather than the TV hardware. We do not use the pay streaming services, and streaming on some websites (such as public library streaming services) was more reliable when we connected a laptop via HDMI cable and used the TV as a monitor. The home page and some apps do not support a keyboard, which makes signing into some sites annoying.

I cannot get the feet/stands to stay on. Not even long enough to turn the tv upright. I haven’t been able to watch it and I’ve had it over a week. I put the R on the right side and L on the left with arrows in correct location. Am I missing something?

can i use this tv as a computer monitor
We use our Fire TV's as computer monitors. But because the default settings are for use as a TV, you might want to play with the settings on the computer or TV. (1) This TV is HD (720p) not full HD (1080p). Windows default is 1080,and computer monitors are generally also 1080; the display looked ragged (lost pixels) until we reset the resolution to 720 (which also resulted in larger icons, etc.). We did not have that problem using the TV as a display for a chromebook. (2) The default brightness on the TV is set for use as a TV, that is, for sitting a few feet away, and it hurt my wife's eyes until we toned down the brightness.

Can this keyboard be used on a smart tv
My wife uses it with her Insignia Fire TV, and it works fine; just connect to USB port. When using a search function on an app, she just types instead of using cursor keys on the pop up keyboard. Don't know about other smart tv's, but not all the apps on a Fire TV are compatible. On the home page, the cursor keys will work, but not the keyboard itself.

Is this automatic? The overview says it’s automatic but mine definitely is not
It is semi-automatic, not full automatic. It will turn off when the LP is finished, but you have to put the stylus on the record to start.

Can I use this as a monitor?
We use this TV as a computer monitor, and it works fine for most purposes. Because it is HD (720p) rather than full HD (1080p), we had to adjust the display on the computer settings. The default and "recommended" setting for Windows 10 is 1080, but pictures at that setting were missing lines. Resetting to 720 made the images larger. Also, if you have an older computer that does not have a HDMI port, you will need an adapter from VGA or DVI to HDMI.
