If you share a TV with family members who are too young to have their own phone--I feel this isn't as good as a Roku or Fire that come with a remote (for everyone to use). However--a TV in a study or other room that is only controlled by folks with a phone app to use as a remote--it's super nice. You won't have to keep up with a remote to stream your favorite videos...it's all done with your phone over your home wi-fi. If you have them in more than one room--make sure you "name" the TV or room so you aren't accidentally controlling a TV in another room that someone else might be watching. The streaming quality is very nice ( we aren't using 4k, but if we upgrade the TV later, we don't have to upgrade the Chromecast.

I had an old flat screen monitor that was failing and/or having conflicts with a new video card(as in...I had to unplug and replug the monitor power to get the screen back "up", because the switch wouldn't function) This monitor works nicely and also has a tiltable screen to optimize viewing angle.

Almost every Blu-ray I've had (more than 7-- in 3 different rooms) has been a Sony. Works good. The only reason I've had to replace them is software changes (YouTube app aging out of support). We stream Amazon, Netflix and YouTube. The remotes all seem interchangeable. Will buy again.

Can this be used with a cell phone?
It connects to my PC via its own wireless USB adaptor-- it is not Bluetooth. I don't know of any phones with standard USB sockets like that..so my answer is No-- this was not made for phones. It works nicely on PCs and laptops for internet voice chat apps like Ventrilo or Discord.

Are you able to answer the soft phone via the headset or do you still need to get back to your computer to hit answer?
Don't know what you meant by "soft phone".
The headphone and mic have no controls. I am using it with Discord (and have used other multiuser chat programs) and you use settings in the chat programs to specify PTT (push to talk) button/key or Voice Activated (and set the sound level that activates it). PTT is what I use-- so I do have to walk back to PC to reply. Others I know are using voice Activation....they can walk around. Sometimes VA is set too low, so you hear furious keyboard clacking...etc. you may find yourself wishing that others used PTT because they have no "filters" and you hear far more than you ever wanted to hear...
