4.5 stars. Nice equipment. Two things I miss are quick releases for leg extension and a "pan" handle. I bought this one because my old one broke and I needed to replace it for the eclipse. I don't use a tripod to often and I didn't want to spend too much.

I bought this to put a Tom Tom GPS in it. The GPS has a 6" screen. It slides in there nice and snug and it will keep the screen protected when I put it somewhere after taking it off the window.

This set is replacing an old Panasonic phone set. I miss some of the features from the old set that this new one doesn't do.
When the answering machine answers the call you can only hear the live message recording on the base unit speaker, not on the handsets scattered throughout the house.
It is very hard to see if there is a message on the machine. A tiny faint red light blinks on the base unit. No eye catching light on the handsets.

I do like how cellphones link up with Bluetooth. That way I can leave my cellphone upstairs where the cell signal is and still be in the basement to answer calls. Just wish I could view texts. Those get missed.

You can't beat the sound of B&W speakers. These crank out the sound. They sound natural. That means the speaker produces the audio without adding some unwanted characteristic. I bought these on sale. B&W has 2 or 3 sales during the year. I like bass so I paired these with a subwoofer.

Plug you valuable electronics and don't worry that the electric company or a thunderstorm are going to destroy them. If they do the guarantee has got you covered. You pretty much plug stuff in and then forget it. You can have the lights and display off if you want. The voltage readout is interesting to see when it's hot out and everybody's AC is running. I got it when it was on sale, of course.

I have a few of these. I've mounted TV's from 32" to 60" with this. It comes with several sizes of bolts to match your set's sockets. A nice template is included for assistance. Wait for a sale. It goes on sale occasionally.

I deal with Apple junk as little as possible. I don't like the restrictions and complications. I save money and time by using Windows and Android products. If I want to put music onto my phone I just drag and drop with no additional, cumbersome software. Oh yeah...Swap out SD card with different music and movies, too. I'm forced to use an ipad at work and I hate it! It is always updating and moving things around.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Well I've played with this for a few days now and I really like it. It works great! I tried an old thumb drive and it couldn't keep up. Use a good thumb drive (USB 3.0) and no problem. No skips or freezes. The USB port on the front does not appear to be 3.0 but that's how it worked for me. I also used a hard disk in a portable case and that worked perfect, too. That is what you need for big capacity. (My hard disk was self powered.) A 1 hour 1080i show will use over 4GB of space. You'll have to leave the drive running whereas the thumb drive won't make noise or use extra power.
The box can be turned off or left on for unattended recording. The file format the OTA video saved is .mts which is nice because it seems more compatible with software (Pinnacle Studio). Use your HDMI cable (not included) for best video. It has a composite A/V cable included if you want to use it on older TV sets or use a coax cable to a TV antenna port and tune the TV to channel 3 or 4 like the old days with a VCR. It plays various video and music files also. The box is light and portable if you like.
It's way cheaper than Tablo or TIVO. The guide is download free from the broadcast stations for several hours ahead. It's easy to select a show and tell it to record or manually setup a recording for anytime. Get it!

Our cell phones work through the internet, because we have no connection to a cell tower. Will this system work with this kind of a setup?

I am looking to mount my TV in an alcove, what is the minimum amount of space "wiggle room" I need in order to hang the TV? ie: If my space is 31" in height, can I hang a TV that is 30" in height or will I need more space to actually hang?
