Exactly what I was thinking would work and it did. I'm actually using this past the recommended area and I have no problems other than some latency because it is doing more than it is supposed to be capable of. Great product, setup wasn't too difficult, but could be more simply explained. In four months I have only had to reset connection on the extender once.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was looking at the night owl security system. I am running a Verizon hotspot for internet so no router. Will this work to plug into the nightowl and get Wi-Fi from my hotspot. There is no where to plug into the hotapot directly.

I don't see why not. You can hook the extender up to your connection using your phone. All it looks for is a wifi network.

If connect an ethernet to my playstation 4 will it get better connection. And will it lower ping on fortnite?

No, the lan cable port is for convenience more in this case because even when connected by lan cable to the extender, you will still be on wifi. However, it is still faster than connecting to the extender through wifi and definitely would only recommend for game consoles. The best way to lower ping is wire your lan/ethernet cable directly into the router, not your extender.

What is the max speed is this extender?

First, I am using this way past the recommended area so I have more latency. The highest I have gotten it up to is 55mb/sec. Usually my speeds are more like 28-34mb/sec. Several factors can slow the connection on the extension. Too many devices on the ext. wifi, bad weather, distance from the router, and the router being overwhelmed with client devices will all contribute to bring your speed down on the extension wifi connection.
