If you have a 2.5 and 5 gig system make certain both indicator lights are green. No then, if you are using your original (Belkin) wireless router and haven't changed that password, it should still work. Check that router to see if you are using the right password (it's usually on the side or bottom of the router) as I have often forgotten it and had to go back and look to make certain I was entering it correctly. Another thing you can do if whatever you are trying to connect is close to the new Netgear device is to simply hardwire it via a short Cat5 or Cat6 cable via one of the ports on the Netgear to the network RJ45 input (provided said device has one) on the device you want to join your network. That's just one reason I bought this Netgear extender, because not all my stuff is wireless and this extended allows me to run a Cat5/6 right to such devices. . I did this with one of my devices and it works great! All the best!
