The ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem is capable of delivering true Gigabit speeds. It's approved for use with Cox, Spectrum, Xfinity and others supporting cable internet speed plans up to 1 Gbps. Upgrading your home network starts with your modem.

Arris for the win.

I've been using the router with Spectrum for a month. I have yet to have any issues, with the Spectrum Modem I had to reboot about 12 times a month if not more.
Worth the money.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This NETGEAR Gigabit unmanaged switch helps businesses cost effectively expand their network to Gigabit speeds and high port counts. The GS105 switch comes with 5 Gigabit copper ports in a desktop metal case and is wall-mountable. This switch is energy-efficient, built to last, and rigorously tested to provide the reliability businesses need. 802.1p traffic prioritization and jumbo frame support allow for seamless integration with sophisticated networks.

I have a roommate who is across the hall from me he has a Ethernet cable running to his room upstairs. Can I plug this into his Ethernet cable then run a Ethernet to my set up and get internet?

The short answer is yes, you can.

You have to make sure you plug the right cable to the right port.

Whatever cable is coming from the router goes in the Port # 5, then you both can use either ports 1 through 4 to get internet.
