10TB is just enormous and can allow you to consolidate many smaller HDs. But realize that you are, indeed, putting your eggs in one basket. So either buy another and use that one for backup or perhaps organize what you put on this drive into logical folders and use some good backup software to duplicate it to multiple smaller HDs. Either way is okay as long as you -do- the backup!
Note that I'm not implying this is an unreliable HD; rather that having all your data on one drive (and nowhere else) is just criminally stupid behavior.

This machine really has only two things that are deficient.
1. The spinning hard drive is just a dog so I replaced it with a 2.5" solid state drive (SSD). This was pretty easy and there are free cloning apps that can help you transfer your old HD's installation over to the new SSD. After that, this machine is very fast.
2. The trackpad is hobbled by Microsoft's driver; it reverses scrolling as you remove your fingers from the trackpad. Workaround: Remove one finger and then the other. It's easy to train your muscle memory to do this.

This machine uses the Intel 620 video chip ("motherboard video") but works quite nicely. For a more portable machine, the lack of a dedicated video card results in a little less weight and a lot more reliability. It's also less $$.

When all you want is cheap then a 120GB SSD (if large enough for your needs) will do the job. Not for old Macs with nvidia HD controllers. But fine for newer Macs and almost all PCs that use SATA HDs. Will speed everything up dramatically.

Nice HD; works fine. Do understand that should the case fail, you can't just remove the HD and plug it into a SATA adapter as the "bare" HD doesn't have such a connector. As long as you're aware of this and have backups of everything, you're fine.

PNY SSDs are compatible with older Macs that have 3G nvidia HD controllers. This is critical as a 6G SSD in such a Mac will operate at 1.5G instead of 3G. PNY and Samsung SSDs are fine but Sandisk is not. In newer Macs and PCs, this doesn't matter.

These external USB3 HDs keep dropping in price so you can never have too many of them for storage and especially backup, right? You -are- doing backup, eh? This is a cheap backup solution. Tell your Mac to use it with TimeMachine and you're all set.

I've been using Brother laser products (printers, faxes, MFCs) for many years. They work beautifully as long as you don't try using "compatible" toner cartridges; only the genuine Brother toner cartridges work properly. No, I don't work for Brother. I am an independent consultant so I "calls it like I sees it".

Excellent quality SSD that works in most Macs and PCs. Older Macs with nvidia controllers require a SATA II so be aware that this SSD is SATA III; using this SSD in a Mac requiring SATA II will yield a drive running at SATA I. If you're not in that situation, this SSD is perfect. I use this brand and model is a number of my Macs and PCs. Can't go wrong.

USB3 so it's as fast as possible given that it's a spinning-type hard drive (not an SSD). But it's quite inexpensive and has been reliable. No complaints.

This is a fine product and inexpensive, as well. Do understand that the signal this range extender provides will be no better than the signal it receives. So the trick is to test at increasing distances from the router (or wifi access point) until you find the distance where this device stops providing a good speed to your wifi-connected PC/Mac; then move it a bit closer to the router and text again. It's tough to provide a specific distance as there may be walls, etc. between this extender and the router. But as long as you are willing to do a little testing and you understand that it can't provide any better signal than it receives fro the router, you should be happy. I;ve bought a number of these for clients and finally bought one for my house so a computer in my garage could connect properly. It works fine, Very happy with it.

Can this device be used between a pc and a mac at the same time?
If all you wish to do is have a drive that both the Mac and the PC may both read from and write to, then format the drive as FAT32 (if your file sizes will be smaller than 4GB). Some restrictions in file naming may also happen - don't remember exactly what they are at this moment). Otherwise use ExFAT and 4GB+ and long filenames are supported. Do not use HFS+ or APFS (Apple file systems) nor should you use NTFS as Macs can read but can't write to it.

Again, as the other person asked, What is the difference of this one and the previous it had replaced? SanDisk?? Tired of so much disinformation out there and wasting my time trying to decipher it all!
SanDisk (and all the drive mfr's) periodically update their products. Whatever changes are made are designed to improve performance and/or reliability. To delve into the specifics of the changes is to get lost in the weeds. Just make sure you backup everything and register your warranty.

Purchased this unit a year ago. Seems to work fine, but greatly limits the speed to devices connected to it. I understand that this is normal for extenders, but are they all created equal? Are there other extenders that will pass a higher speed through?

Can I plug this out in the garage and still get reception from the house
Generally speaking, yes. Remember that the extender will only provide as good a signal as -it- receives so check with your laptop at various distances from the router (wifi access point) toward the garage. If the laptop loses signal, that's too far away to plug in the extender. You might try the half-way point (between the router and the garage) and, if you get a good signal there, plug in the extender there. That will replicate essentially the same strength signal from that point.

No; not directly from the camera. You may download photos from eMails you receive or sharing sites (Google Drive, etc.) but the storage on this device is limited so you're better off using an online photo site (Google Photos, Shutterfly) and the appropriate app for that site to view your photos as you will fill this quite quickly.

No; this is only for connecting a newer Mac with a MagSafe2 port to an older power brick (with a MagSafe tip). Do note that the latest MacBooks/Pros use a USBC power port so this adapter will not work for you in this case. The MacBook Air is still (as I write this) using a MagSafe2 power port.
