doesn't dry items consistently

This is an okay dryer. I thought I was misunderstanding the cycle settings and re-read the manual after a few days of use. For example, the cycle setting "Very Dry" is referring to an item you want very dry at the end, not an item that is already mostly dry when you put it in. I tried using different settings, and it seemed like there was no in between. It was either still damp or so hot the clothes felt like they were going to burst into flames. Also it is supposed to keep rolling at the end of the cycle to keep your clothes from wrinkling. This made me wonder how it could really be that energy efficient if it was continuing to run an extra 40 minutes and the clothes were not even dry before that part of the cycle began. I now am using only the timed dry cycle. I still have a few things that are damp, but it does a better job than the other cycles.

Good but very basic model

For the price I paid, I expected a little more. I was looking for a high efficiency washer without an agitator in the middle and thought this was the best option. It is large enough to wash a comforter, but it is noisy. We have had the washer for a month now and have not had any major issues with the machine itself. The price was comparable to other retailers, but I chose to purchase it from Best Buy because they offered free delivery and installation and the price match guarantee. Best Buy installation included opening the box and carrying it to the laundry room. I had to attach the hoses and connect the machine to the water and power supplies. They lowered the price by $150 within 6 days of it being delivered. I was getting ready to leave for vacation when I noticed the lower price and waited to call them until after I returned. This was a mistake because although I thought this price match was good for 30 days, you have to alert them within 15 days. It didn't matter that it was their own price that I wanted matched, I had printed the page with the URL and date, or that the price was still $150 lower when I contacted them.

I just purchased this kind of washer yesterday and I have more detergent and some are powder but not HE, can I still use those?
What will happen if I use the non HE detergent.? It just I have a lot of stock of non HE.
If you have liquid detergent that isn't HE I would use it as a pretreat maybe, but I would either toss the powder or give it away to someone who could use it. If you use it in this machine it will probably make too many suds and you will have to use extra rinse cycles to get the soap out.
