Cannot get it to receive faxes

Purchased this fax machine to replace an old one we had at the office. You would think set up would be easy - Plug in the old phone line and you are ready to go. Wrong. The machine can send faxes but I cannot receive any from outside the building. Our phone company came in to check the lines and all was okay. Brother support was rather comical and no help at all. When I called, I was told that I could not receive faxes because I was on the phone. They then called me on my cell and suprise, I still could not receive faxes. I was then asked if anyone else was on the phone. After constantly explaining that the old machine was on this same line and worked fine till it totally gave out, I was asked if there was anything else they could help me with. I would never purchase another Brother product again.

Very easy to set up and install. Loved being able to change the colors even though I could not find one to match the walls, I was able to coordinate it. I like that I am able to turn up the heat when I am leaving work so I walk into a warm house. Yes, it does have programming but I do not always leave work at the same time. It shows the outdoor temp as well as my programmed set tem and the humidity level in the house. Overall, great product.

I backed up all my smaller drives, USB drives and offloaded additional information off my system and it didn't even seem to make a dent in the amount of space that was available. Very happy with it.

This monitor is a good value for the money. It is very affordable, sleek looking and good picture quality. The cable HDMI cable I needed was $40 and the monitor was $90. Seemed a bit expensive but not the monitors fault. It was my computers fault.

Will this product detect and remove viruses? I am considering it for a new PC.
It does a great job in protecting you against getting the viruses in the first place.Monthly reports show which sites, cookies, viruses were blocked. Have always been happy with Trend Micro.

Can you help me find a desktop, that is not touchscreen
Most desktops are not touch screen. You have the hard drive and whichever monitor you choose. Touchscreen monitors are also a lot pricier than regular monitors. It is when you are looking at laptops that you encounter the touchscreen.

the specifications say 2 cartridges required but only 1 comes with it. Can we use just one? no access to another cartridge where we live
I guess I never read the specs. I am only using one cartridge and it works fine.

Can I use a brothers fax 2840 as a printer for my computer. I do a lot of printing and I figure a laser printer is better

Yes, you can use this as a printer. The one thing I did notice is that the fax is already saying toner low and mine is strictly used as a fax machine and I would have to say the number of pages printed is below 200. Unsure at this time how many more pages are left and the cost of the replacement toner.

How long does the battery last? and how do you change or charge it?
I charge my battery less than once a week. You will receive an email when the battery is low and I have always made it home in time to charge it without running out of power.
