Best mobile phone I've had

If I'd known then what I do now, I would have kept this phone. I absolutely loved it. I would have another one in a heartbeat. Instead, I had to downgrade to the standard S7, which was extremely disappointing. If only the batteries didn't explode.
Anyway. This review doesn't really do anyone any good anyway since they stopped marketing them. So there's my opinion.

After having the Note 7, I hate this phone

I reverted back to this phone after having the wonderful Note 7 and dealing with that whole fiasco. Knowing what I do now, I should have just kept it rather than turning it in, but oh well.
The S7 is exactly what you'd expect from a standard Galaxy phone. It's easy to use, messes up every word you type unless you download a different keyboard (my personal favorite is the Google keyboard), and the camera is 'meh'. It is water resistant, but nothing will compare to what I had with the Note 7. The battery on the standard S7 has a low capacity, which means short run time, and recharging more often than should otherwise be necessary. Then again, i use mine for work and everything else, so I really eat through the power.
Another huge issue with this particular phone that I've had is the compatibility with the Gear VR - every time (3 times now) I've given this phone the benefit of the doubt and plugged it into the Gear VR headset, the thing freezes completely. Won't allow me to turn it off, won't allow me to do anything. Then the screen goes blue and I have to do a hard reset (hold the home key, the power key, and the volume buttons for a few seconds) and it completely wipes my phone. IRRITATING.
Since that's happened, the phone freezes or overheats regularly, so I imagine that whatever happened to it while in the realm of VR seriously harmed the phone itself.
Regardless, I'm content. I'm annoyed, but content. I am happy to wait for the Note 8 or the S8 or whatever new and best mobile device that Samsung has in store for us. In the mean-time, however, I will continue to glare down at my S7 disdainfully and dream of my Note 7.
Also, as there is no middle ground on whether or not I'd recommend this phone to a friend, I hit the 'yes' radio button, but my heart tells me that it's more like a strong "meh... if they needed something to get them through until something better becomes available" kind of thing. No button for that.

Bevelled edge makes for poor performance

I grant you that my review on this item is more a reflection of bad design on Samsung's end, rather than a poorly made product on Zagg's side. The slightly rounded edge around the outside of the screen makes any kind of screen protector not want to stick very well, and this poor adhesion (in my experience with four or five of both the HD glass series and the regular HD Zagg Shields) creates air pockets where the screen protectors just peel up over time and then pop off completely when you try to stick your phone in your pocket. They're a pain.
Don't get me wrong - I absolutely love Zagg products. They are excellent. But on these phones (both the S7 and the S7 edge/note), they are functionally poor. It's better just to buy a cheap double-sided phone protector elsewhere.

This speaker sounds great, but it eats through battery like like mad, and it more than doubles the thickness of the already thick and heavy phone. The magnetic 'snap-on' attachment is nice, but it's a pain to remove as there are no tabs or other methods to remove it. You just have to get a fingernail underneath the edge and pull it off. Seamless integration, however, so that's nice.
Though the sound quality is good, this is not worth the purchase price unless you can get it on a really good deal.

This is a great alternative to the Samsung/Apple saturated mobile phone market. This phone is still on par price-wise with either set of phones, however.
Pros: Excellent camera. 21 megapixel camera as opposed to the standard 12 megapixel camera with other phones.
Long battery life.
Shatter-proof screen (but not scratch proof, which is a con - you WILL need a screen protector).
Cons:
As mentioned, the screen is easily scratched, so a screen protector is a must.
Cases that I've purchased will only work with the phone itself and must be removed to use mods.
Mods are very bulky.
Mods (other than the extended battery) eat battery power like crazy.
No water resistance (keep away from all sources of water).

Great brand, but poor product for 'edge' devices.

I love Zagg products. Absolutely. But the Zagg shield created for the edge devices are... not good. That's putting it mildly. The included squeegee does not work on the edges, and therefore the shield does not sit snugly over the edges of these rounded-edge devices. Because of this issue, the Zagg shield peels up off of the edges (especially if you use a phone protector sleeve like I do), so you have to keep pressing it down and pressing it down. On top of all of that, keeping it in your pocket will force dust and debris under the edges of the Zagg shield and then it will never stick to your device again. Even still, the Zagg shields are great - they do very well to protect all kinds of devices, and I will continue to buy them as long as I own anything that needs screen protection. The only bummer is that Zagg does not make the Zagg Glass for the edge products yet. As soon as they do, I'll buy that instead, and hopefully they will hold up better.

Great setup for the price

This setup is cheap, easy to install, and can be transferred to an indoor radio setup just as easily. My only three gripes are these:
1) The radio quality itself is 'tinny' sounding, even on a newer OEM sound system. The volume controls are also tricky to work with using an existing stereo, which makes me not want to touch the volume settings when I get it set where I want it.
2) The satellite receiver itself has no way of securing to anything - it just has little rubber nubs on the base, which do practically nothing. Considering you have to have the receiver in an unobstructed location, such as your dash - where I have mine - if you take a hard turn, it goes flying. I have considered buying a small roll of VHB tape online and using that to secure it down, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
3) The anchor pivot that the radio sits in does not stay where you set it, even if you tighten the nut around the pivot ball as tight as it can go; So the radio ends up jostling around and slumps down, finally resting with the screen pointed at the ground. Irritating, but tolerable. I may have just gotten a bad anchor - it happens.

I have numerous gripes about the Sirius/XM service itself, but that's another episode. All in all, this is a great little setup and includes everything you need to get satellite radio set up in your vehicle quickly and easily. I would recommend this model for the price. If you want something that gives you more information, has more display options, etc., then don't buy this cheaper model - go with the more expensive models.

I was not aware of being a Verizon customer, am I in fact on Verizon? Motorola-MotoZ 4G LTE Cell Phone I thought that I was on Consumer Cellular,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,is that Verizon?
Consumer Cellular is its own brand, for all intents and purposes. Verizon is not the same company. A variety of cellular phones are made for various service providers and usually have that provider's proprietary software on the cellphone when you purchase it. If you buy a phone from either provider, you are serviced by that provider until you switch carriers. Be very careful to read the fine print on any contractual agreement that you might have to sign so that you are aware of the circumstances to which you are agreeing.

What is the activation fee for this phone?
I had to pay a 20$ activation fee. This may depend on your area, however. I'm not exactly sure about that. I'm sure you could ask Verizon through their online chat program for a better explanation.
