Standard size sink will do as you will need to stand the grate up on end to wash it. Protect the bottom of the sink as the grate is cast iron and will scratch just about any surface. I don't real see the need to wash the grates as they clean up well in place on the stove with a damp rag. They do unhinge very quickly and easily if you want to rinse them in the sink, but they are cast iron and are on the heavy side. I suppose you could put them in a dishwasher, but I don't ever think that would be necessary as they don't get that dirty. So far we love the range and the features. Would not hesitate to recommend this slide in gas range.
