Wonderful sound and features. The 2nd zone was a little difficult to get working, however I got it set up and it's great. This is my second ONKYO reciver. I bought a 65 UHD samsung TV and upgraded to this reciever for the 4K capabilities. Overall, great reciever for the price.

Zones
Because this receiver has a powered zone output and a pre-amp output could I use both at the same time? So I could either have 4 speakers working in another room while 7.1 in the main room.

You can use both at the same time but I belive if you turn on zone two through the settings menu you will only get 5.1 in the main room.

Can Zone 2 play the sounds from my Cable tv?
I would like to setup 5.1 and then zone 2 for my kitchen to also please what is on the TV (i.e. pandora on X1), can this receiver do this? My last receiver would only play stereo on 2nd zone.
Yes. I just set this up over the weekend to play Pandora through DTV to my patio speakers. I have HDMI from my DTV to the reciever for 5.1 in my living room. I also connected Red/White composite from DTV to the reciever. Connect zone two speakers and go though the reciever's settings menu to turn on Zone two. Press zone two on the reciever and select the input that you connected. You can have different volume levels for the main room and zone two, so you may need to press zone two the volume on your reciver remote to adjust the zone two's volume level.

I have a dvr & blue ray player both with 3d capabilities which I plug all my devices into receiver.

Yes. There are many inputs for just about any device you'd like to connect.
