The NETGEAR Dual-Band N600 Router with 8 x 4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem with N600 simultaneous dual band WiFi router and integrated DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, provides 8x faster download speeds, up to 340 Mbps. It's CableLabs DOCSIS 3.0 Certified to work with U.S. cable Internet providers.
I got this modem in May 2015. Worked great for the covered 90 day period after that you will not get any support from Netgear. The problem I ran into is with the Firmware version. Netgear says this is not something they handle but rather the ISP provider, in my case Comcast. The slowness of speed I started having began when Comcast sent through an upgrade that changed the firmware to a much higher version than what Netgear says it should be. Netgear says to talk to Comcast and Comcast says to talk to Netgear. There is NO option to manually download the correct firmware version for this modem. You are held hostage by these two companies bouncing you back and forth. Why Netgear do you not offer your customers a way to download the proper version of firmware for this modem. Never buy Netgear again. I ended up looking on the Community site on this issue and found out many other folks having same issue. The only resolution is to buy a Motorola modem which is not having this issue. $150 down the drain on this Netgear modem that is a few months old. Save yourself the headache and buy Motorola.
