This was added in addition to my remote start package and I was advised that if it wasn't necessary for my vehicle and not used that I would be refunded. I do not know of it was installed or not. However the Geeks were helpful in explaining why I would need this in addition to the package which comes with a swifch already. Simply put, this is a better and more reliable design. The cost was/is too insignificant for me to inspect whether or not it has been used as this was all a gift installed on someone else's car. 3 stars because it should work as intended, but I don't know if it is or if it went back to their stock and isn't being used.

Having read some reviews of local Geek Squad installation problems with poorly done work, I was very hesitant at first with getting installation done. Of course, not all Geeks are created equal. So far so good, and install time was less than quoted.

I purchased this item as part of a Deal of the Day package and am pleased to say it is just what I was looking for. It was a gift and a great one at that. Installation went well by local Geek Squad and the only reason it's not 5 stars is because they only provide 1 remote. You can buy a replacememt remote and have it programmed but I think 2 should be included as most cars come with at least 2 keys when new. This is exactly all you need for a simple remote start system. No extra features or complications. Just press a button and your vehicle will start.
