Bought the Garmin Vivofit 3 tracker to replace a different brand I had used. That brand would not update the programmed fitband so it needed replacing. I like the tracker I have now for it's counting my steps, most of all. It counts my sleep hours. I don't care how many calories gained from foods I consume. I did try adding other suggested apps for that benefit; it proved worthless effort using additional apps whereas it was included with the previous fitband I used.

Which of the Garmin Vivofit 2 or 3 is best for steps and stairs
I use Vivofit 3 to count steps while on morning walks and throughout the day. Where I live, there are no stairs to climb unless visiting a hospital and not using elevators. Pay attention to swinging the arm with the fitness band. Each swing of the arm (even moving the arm standing still, waiting to cross an intersection, or jumping) is counted.
