Introducing wireless AirPods. Just take them out and they're ready to use with all your Apple devices¹. Put them in your ears and they connect instantly. Speak into them and your voice sounds clear. Simplicity and technology, together like never before. The result is completely magical.
Pros: I love the tech. It syncs with iphones perfectly, and the way the sync happens is how it SHOULD happen. Bluetooth syncing has always been a bother to me. Apple does it just right. No blinking blue lights. No having to guess if it's synced. Sound is not bad. I'd say better than OEM earpods. I'm not an expert, but i listen in mixed environments like public streets and on my bike, so fidelity isn't THAT important. Having no wires is AWESOME. It's a totally different experience because you won't snag your wire anymore. Swinging wire won't work the earbuds out of your ears. I use it for calls, and people never complain if i sound funny. Finally, the fit and finish is awesome. They use magnets to make everything snap to where it needs to be. Like other apple products, it just feels great to use.
cons: Fit is not for everyone. It fits me ok. not great. but honestly, I haven't had it fall out of my ears yet. Cost might seem high, but really... there's much more expensive stuff out there that are more problematic. For the tech, the price is fair. If you want to sync this with your PC via bluetooth and also your iphone, syncing may get a little more complicated, but not any different than any other bluetooth headset.
If you're willing to pay the price, and wires bother you, I believe this is the best option out there. I bike, snowboard, run, and the wires have always bothered me. This product is perfect for what I need.

Works great! Max output should be 720p. If you didn't know, there's basically an embedded computer in the cable that is an airplay receiver. The iphone creates an airplay signal that is recoded for HDMI output. So the quality will be airplay level. I think there's some types of streams like Netflix or something that won't work with airplay, but I haven't experienced it, so I don't know. I stream local content.

Unfortunately, this is a version 4 product. This product really can't be used without the keyboard. I tried. I didn't buy the keyboard. 3 times the touch screen went out on me. Probably a driver issue. The touch screen SHOULD NEVER GO UNRESPONSIVE in a tablet device. Once it does, I tried holding the power button down for 5 seconds to do a hard shutdown (standard in the ATX specification). Failed. Microsoft decided to change it so that a message came down that said something like swipe to shutdown. Oh, but if you're touch screen is unresponsive, you can just sit there and watch it for 4 hours when the batter completely dies... then wait for it over night because really it's just in a sleep state.
They lied about the battery. I say it's a 4-5 hour battery. Middle brightness just surfing.
Tablet functionality wasn't great. Windows Edge is very buggy. I switched to Internet explorer... which is not built for touch, so... I had to switch to Chrome.
This was basically my experience. If I plugged it into a keyboard and mouse, it was a great windows computer. It is marketed as a tablet, and it really just seemed like they tried. Mostly. The app store wasn't great. The onscreen keyboard, the way app store, the way windows just behaves was just awkward as a tablet.
At 65 degrees ambient, surfing the web, the fan never came on. When it did, it wasn't that bothersome at all.
I also tried the Lenovo Yoga 900. At this price point, the yoga fit my life much better. I loved the tent position, i loved flipping it out 180 so i can lay down and watch a movie with this thing balanced on my stomach. The battery lasted way longer.
Bose® SoundLink® Mini Speaker: Enjoy full, robust sound anywhere you go with this speaker that features an ultracompact design for easy movement from room to room. Bluetooth technology allows you to wirelessly stream music and more from your compatible cell phone, audio player and more.
I'm pretty excited about this little guy. It feels heavier than it looks. very solid build. I love the docking cradle. I typically leave the cradle in the kitchen, I use it for music for kitchen and dining room.
The sound is clear and actually quite great, but it is bass heavy. I don't see that there is any equalizer function, so if you don't like exaggerated bass, this might not be for you. The reviews are generally spot on in that it can get loud and fill a room for a party of 10 or so.
Bluetooth connection is good. It seems to work best if you generally use 1 bluetooth device. If you have multiple, it seems to have trouble automatically connecting to all your devices (I have 4). i tried to do a firmware update, and this device fails here. The service micro-usb port is recessed, so a standard cable can't really plug in. I'm not sure what the point of this is. I still tried to update the firmware because it seems to almost work connecting it to my computer, but ultimately it failed. I found Bose's firmware and driver support really spotty. It either works or it won't, but there's not a lot of forum or online documentation support that's useful if the default methods fail.
Day to day though... I love it. It's small enough that it's not even a thought to bring it along. I probably should get a case for it, but the brushed metal doesn't look like it scratches easy, so i'm ok with that for now.
I'm the type of person that buys things and after a few weeks, starts nitpicking and I often get dissatisfied with purchases for one reason or another. I can say that I really do like this Bose after owning it for a couple months, and every time I look at it, I can say it was a satisfying purchase. If you're willing to pay the price for it, I'd wager you'll really love it with very little regrets.
Sony Portable Bluetooth Speaker System: Enjoy full-range sound with authoritative bass at home and on the go with this speaker system, which features ClearAudio+ technology and a subwoofer for rich, dynamic audio. The Definitive Outline design offers a stylish touch.
This was alright. the sound was clear and it gets loud enough to fill an average kitchen or dining room, but the bass really wasn't there. It also didn't seem to have the spacial separation like the Bose Mini. Unlike the Bose Mini, I will never mistake this for a larger speaker than it truly is.
After purchasing, I also read that it is less loud when running off battery vs. being plugged in.
I wouldn't be so picky, but it retails for $200, and for that price, it just doesn't seem worth it. I suspect Sony inflates it's prices so it can have enticing sales. For $100, I can see this being good.
It did connect easily via bluetooth with my phone and ipad.
I just don't covet this nor does it impart any special emotional impact. It is solid though. It won't let you down for what it is.
