I purchased this case & I purchased the Otterbox Symmetry so that I could compare the two. The Symmetry is much lighter, however in my mind, I believe it's less protection than the Defender. The 6 plus is already a massive phone, in my opinion. The Defender case makes it even more massive. If you don't care about the bulkiness, then I say go for it. The Symmetry doesn't cover enough of edges of the phone in my opinion. And also, the Symmetry does not cover the top & bottom edges of the tempered glass. They're left exposed, which causes dirt accumulation under the tempered glass. I do like the fact that the Defender outside case is rubber. It doesn't slide out of your hand as easily as the Symmetry, which is a hard case. If I had to pick, I would go with the Symmetry, only because Defender case makes it so much bulkier. I ended up returning the Defender. I wish I could find a case with the body of the Defender (rubber & protects more of the edges) but the size/weight of the Symmetry. The Defender has more pros for me, but the bulkiness was too much. It was a deal breaker.
OtterBox Commuter Series Case for Apple iPhone 6 Plus or 6s Plus: A polycarbonate shell surrounds a synthetic rubber slipcover, keeping your iPhone safe from bumps and drops. A self-adhesive screen protector is included to minimize scratches on your phone's touch screen.
I purchased this case for my mom & I. I was a bit concerned about the color & it getting dirty. I opted for the teal, but they were out of stock. I have not used my case yet, but my mom has. And of course, the white along the edges of the case is already accumulating dirt. She doesn't wear make-up, so it's just from normal handling of the phone. I also noticed that because the case is a hard case & the backing is of a smooth texture, it slides easily out of your hand. So make sure you always have a secure grip. I also noticed the case doesn't cover the top & bottom edges of the tempered glass. I'm not sure if it's the glass & the fact that it doesn't cover the phone screen completely from top to bottom. There is about 1/3 at the top & bottom of the screen which is not covered by the glass. So needless to say, with this case, a bit of my screen is exposed, as well as the top & bottom edges of the tempered glass. Which I've noticed dirt accumulating around the top & bottom edges of the tempered glass because it's not covered by the case. On the fence about it.
