Good Computer for Working with Graphics

The HP750-124 - Envy Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 2TB Hard Drive computer is an excellent choice for those who want to edit digital images and videos, surf the Internet, view videos, use word processors, build spreadsheets, and create graphic presentations. It is fast, and the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 "card" is more than adequate to do jobs using programs such as Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements. It also works well for "simple" games, such as those available on Microsoft's App Store. However, high-speed internet gaming requires a more "advanced" graphic card to perform to their requirements. Many of the reviews panning this computer's graphics capabilities seem to be from competitive gamers who were expecting it to perform like a $1200-$1700 computer. If competitive gaming is your thing, then this is probably not the computer for you.
My 4-star rating rather than a 5-star rating is based on the problems that I had during the first week after I installed the computer. Some of these problems may have been due to the poor documentation provided in print and online by HP for the computer, and Microsoft for Windows 10. The problems that I encountered included lack of recognition of some peripherals (e.g., old scanner, new external hard drive) as well as some of the USB ports, and the failure of Windows 10 updates to be downloaded and installed properly. Fortunately, I subscribed to the reasonably-priced Geek Squad service, and their agents were able to straighten out all the problems.
I have been using the HP750-124 daily for 6 weeks now and have not had any further problems. In addition to writing and answering emails, I have edited and organized several hundred digital photographs, designed a logo for a display, and edited several dozen video clips that I made into a 43-minute movie (using Adobe Premiere Elements 14).
In summary, I do not think that you could find a better performing computer for the price of the HP750 Envy.

Perfect fit for my camera

I purchased the Lowepro - Newport 30 Camera Case because it was on sale and it fit a camera that I had just purchased at Best Buy. The size was perfect for this camera and the external zippered pocket had just enough room for an extra NB6-LH lithium ion battery and an extra memory card. However, I question as to whether there is enough padding to protect the exposed viewing screen. I have another camera in a somewhat smaller Case-Logic case that seems to be better padded. Skippy (?) padding lowers my rating from 5 to 4 stars.

I have 2 SanDisk - Pixtor Advanced 32GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-3 Memory Cards; one resides in my Samsung Galaxy Tablet, the other in a SX 710 HS PowerPoint camera. Both cards allow my instruments to operate rapidly and efficiently. Images captured on the card by my camera are excellent. I store pictures, short video clips, music, and downloaded materials on my card in the tablet. This frees up space on the tablet's 8 GB internal drive for the OS and a variety of aps.

Great compact camera for travel

I own and use 3 Canon cameras that I bought over the years from Best Buy. The SX710 HS is used for travelling via air because it is compact, has a 30x optical zoom lens and a pop-up flash. It takes excellent daylight pictures and remarkably good HD videos. The only drawbacks are that the NB-6 HL battery drains relatively fast compared to the NB-10 L battery that I use in my Canon PowerShot SX 50 HS camera, and the recovery time is relatively long for the SX710 after taking flash images using a freshly-charged battery.
Last week I used both cameras (SX 50 and SX 710) loaded with SDHC Class 10 memory cards to take images and short videos in relatively dim rooms that had changing light conditions. The SX 710 produced slightly better pictures and significantly better videos, possibly due to it's newer DIGIC 6 image processor and larger (20.3-megapixel, 1/2.3") CMOS sensor. Outdoor images look equally good, but the SX710's larger sensor would produce sharper images if one wants to make very large (poster-size) prints.
If you want a compact, high-tech point and shoot camera that has most of the features found in more expensive cameras, you would not be disappointed by the SX 710 HS.

I purchased the Actiontec 4-Port Ethernet Broadband Router with Wireless-N from BEST BUY as a replacement for a similar router that I had purchased from Qwest that "burned out" after 4 years of excellent service. The Actiontec router was easy to install after contacting CenturyLink (Qwest's successor) for the required code. I have been using it daily for over a month and it has performed flawlessly so far. We needed a corded phone with a screen to indicate caller ID. Since we had a good digital device to record missed-call messages, we did not want to pay extra to duplicate that feature. This AT&T Trimline Phone hit the spot. Its' only shortcoming is the lack of back lighting for the LCD screen, making it difficult to read caller ID information under low-light conditions.

My Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet fits perfectly into this Belkin - Bifold Folio Case. Even the porthole for the backside camera lens matches up perfectly. The tablet snaps in easily and in stays in place when tilted at various angles, such as when you switch orientation between portrait and landscape. In addition to keeping my tablet clean and protected from minor bumps, the front of the case folds and attaches to the back, forming a stand for showing images to others or allowing hands-free reading of a landscape-oriented page. Inexpensive storage for tablet files

I bought this SanDisk - Ultra 32GB microSDHC Class 10 Memory Card to expand the storage capacity of my Samsung Tab 2 7.0 tablet. By buying it on sale at Best Buy for under $38, the tablet's storage capacity was increased from 8 GB to 40 GB for about the same additional cost as buying a the same tablet with 16 GB capacity. This card response was so fast that I had to check to make sure that the files being added were going to the card and not to the internal memory of the tablet. The set up procedure for the tablet allowed me to direct all photos, music files, e-books, etc. to the memory card, leaving most of the 8 GB of internal memory available for files that must be on it for proper operation. This memory card is definitely a good investment. I have also had success with the SanDisk - Ultra 16GB microSDHC Class 10 Memory Cards that I use in my digital cameras.

I bought this Tab 2 7.0" tablet on sale at Best Buy a week before the Tab3 was introduced. I use it to keep up with breaking news, sports scores, weather, checking e-mail when away from my computer, and reading newspapers, magazines and books. There are plenty of useful and free apps available. Digital photography is my hobby and I have good cameras to take pictures, but the camera on the Tab 2 is good enough for most snap shots. The secondary (screen side) lens was used for for Skype and it was adequate for that purpose. This tablet suits all my purposes perfectly, and makes similarly-priced e-readers obsolete. If you want a wi-fi tablet that does everything well, then this is the best device you can buy for under $180.

With 8 surge-protected outlets, including 4 widely spaced outlets, this CyberPower SX650G 650VA battery back-up system guards against power spikes and provides up to 8 minutes of run time, so connected devices shut down properly during a power failure.
How long will the battery run when power is off. It will be connected to a computer and phone.
It depends on how many of the 4 battery back-up sockets you are using and how much power your devices are using when a power failure occurs. I use 3 of these sockets (computer with i7 processor, monitor, and back-up hard drive) and had enough time to save the files I was working on, close all open windows, and shut down my computer. However, I did not test the extremes for the battery. According to the User Guide, the battery runtimes range from 65 minutes for a DVR that is recording, to 18 minutes for a 21" iMac computer, to 6 minutes for a 32" LCD TV and PS3 console. These times are similar to the competitor's times, and plenty of time to back up files, close programs and shut down devices safely.

How is Picture quality when zooming in on small items?
I would like to take photos at friends wedding, and want shots of her ring, and other small items, how well does this zoom in on details on small items? Or is there a better camera, that is not complicated or expensive that would do the trick? Help!
I've just finished taking pictures with my new SX 710 HS camera using the "MACRO" setting and got excellent results shooting in the "L" size setting. However, if you do not need all the features of a $350-camera, there are digital cameras out there that sell for $80 - $150 dollars that may suit your purposes. I have taken very good close-up pictures with my Canon PowerShot Elph 115 IS that I purchased on sale at Best Buy for $79.95 early in 2014. I'm sure there are other brands that could also serve your purpose. Just make sure that they have a decent sized Image sensor and an available MACRO setting. Good luck and good shooting!

What file types does the SG Tab 2 7.0 support?
Files supported by the Android OS have all worked well on my SG Tab 2 7.0 8GB. In particular, I have been able to save JPEG and PDF files on it. I installed a 32GB micro SD card in the micro-card slot, which has allowed me store pictures taken with the Tab's cameras as well as e-books and, e-magazines down-loaded from Android apps, as well as scanned maps. So far, I have not had any trouble storing and viewing files on my Tab 2 7.0.

Is there an option in settings to change the operating language from English to Polish?
YES, Many languages from Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa. Using the "Settings" app, you navigate down to "Languages" and tap on the default language ("English (U.S.)" on my tablet). A menu will open up with several dozen languages on it. Tap the language that you want.

There is a free app pre-installed, "Polaris Office" that allows some editing of EXCEL and WORD files. Check the "Play Store" on Google's website to see about "gopayment" and what may be needed. You may also want to download the tablet's User Guide from Samsung's website. I did so before buying this tablet to make sure it had all the features that I wanted. It answered many of my questions.
