Has anyone gotten a rash by using the headphones

i had two pairs one broke and now a replacement
the first one was fine no problems except for a short circuiting
using the second pair the bottom of my ear lobe drys up and starts to itch and the skin splits when i wear it for a long period of time,( thought it was the winter air but after realized it was the headphones).
could this be a malfunction anyone else experienced this, and is a good reason to exchange?
