Throughly enjoyed all the LoTR and Hobbit films

My wife is a self described Tolkien Nerd and thoroughly enjoys these films even though they are not 100% "by the book." I also thoroughly enjoy them and we re-watch the sets once or twice a year, scattered out over several weeks.

I have several of these drives, both in systems and in external USB cases and they are very reliable and fast. I have had a couple of the drives for more than 2 years and they work great. When Best Buy has them in stock and you can catch them on sale for $39 -$49, you simply cannot beat the cost/TB, performance and reliability. These are not as fast as 7200RPM+ drives or SSD's, so don't expect that kind of performance, but for the money, you cannot go wrong with this drive.

I purchased this SSD to upgrade an older laptop, extend its life a little longer and give it a boost in battery time. This SSD accomplished all of those requirements. It was easy to install, easily recognized by the laptop and I transferred the old OS onto the new drive using Acronis. The system booted from this drive with no problems and I have had no problems with the laptop since.

It came as a freebie with the purchase of the Minions movie. I'm saving it for my son when he is slightly older so he won't immediately tear it up, or I might just keep it for myself and add to my collection of stuff.......

My wife wanted a bigger usb drive as an additional backup for her pictures on her laptop and this one fit the bill. She is happy with it, so I am happy with it.

I'm a big fan of animation and this was well done with an interesting story. I have watched it several times, typically around Halloween and always enjoy it. My son is almost old enough to watch and enjoy it and I look forward to sharing it with him.

I watched this one with my 4 year old son and he laughed all through the movie as did I. My only regret is that I didn't initially buy this on BluRay.

I read many reviews of power supplies available both locally and online. This power supply was used to replace an Antec PS that died after many years of faithful service. This power supply was available at an online retailer at a lower price and Best Buy matched the price with no problem. Replaced the failed power supply and everything restarted normally.

is this compatible with the dell OptiPlex 740
As long as the Dell system has an open SATA port it should work with no problems. I used this SSD on an older system that as SATA 1 and had no problems with backwards compatibility. I did a quick look at the specs on the OptiPlex 740 and it uses SATA drives, so it should connect with no problems. You will need a sata cable as this drive does not come with a cable.
