This camcorder is really nice as far as the clarity of pics, videos and sound, it's easy to use too. I love the projection feature but for me the main reason for this purchase was because I was looking for a WiFi capable cam. This one claims to be but it's not a strong feature at all. An app has to be installed and can only be sent to smart phones, no PC's or anything like that. SonyHandyCam can only"WiFi" pictures (not video, which defeats the purpose) to a smart phone after a long and frustrating ritual that would usually result in one thing or another not being supported, etc. So this is not a good purchase for me. I did get it on sale because someone else had also returned it once and there were no cords, no battery, box or paperwork. I am returning this item because I needed a WiFi capable camcorder & I already have the basic Sony HandyCam that's almost identical to this one. In the instance this is being considered for purchase as a good basic home video cam, these Sony HandyCams are great, but if you need wireless features I don't recommend paying extra for this one only because it claims to be wireless capable and essentially is not. My answer is yes and no regarding recommending it to a friend. It completely depends on what the product is needed for.
