This is the best vacuum for stairs and our upstairs area. I love this vacuum more than the bigger one that you plug-in. I have been wanting a portable for our stairs and this one is great. You wouldn't believe all of the stuff this little vacuum picks-up and the carpet looks better than when I use my bigger Dyson. Battery life is about 26 minutes unless you use the MAX...that shortens the time.

Hi, I am interested in the DC59 animal cordless, but I'm skeptical to purchase it in fear of not having as good of suction power with the cordless and I'd like to find out how long the battery stays charged for? We have a dog and a cat and I like to vacuum minimum of every other day. Is there another corded animal model with the same slim version that would be better.
We have a cat and two dogs. This does a fantastic job. There is a MAX button on the vacuum that sucks the battery power if you use it all of the time. I only use it when I need a boost. I can do my stairs, upstairs bedrooms (2) and bathroom and the charge light still didn't come on...battery life is advertised at being 26 minutes.
