In general, I'm very impressed with the Sony Core Series. It's probably your best bet in this price range. In my opinion, they sound better than the Polks, and if you can get these on sale (every two weeks or so), it's a great buy. The cabinet isn't wood, so it could look better-- I buy my audio equipment for sound not aesthetics; so, in my opinion this is irrelevant--, but it's definitely sturdy.

I started with four bookshelves, a center, and a sub in this series, and was so impressed, I grabbed another sub and the towers.
In general, I'm very impressed with the Sony Core Series. It's probably your best bet in this price range. In my opinion, they sound better than the Polks, and if you can get these on sale (every two weeks or so), it's a great buy. The cabinet isn't wood, so it could look better-- I buy my audio equipment for sound not aesthetics; so, in my opinion this is irrelevant--, but it's definitely sturdy.

Enjoy room-filling sound with this Sony Core Series SSCS3 floorstanding speaker, which features dual 5" woofers, a 3/4" super tweeter and a 1" tweeter to precisely reproduce instruments and vocals in robust detail.

I can't say enough about Corsair peripherals. In general, the company is great... their custom service is excellent, and they won't hesitate to help you out if your product has issues... compared to other manufacturers producing similar goods (anyone from Razer to Asus, that type of service is hard to find).
Corsair is my favorite brand of peripherals simply because of the quality of their products... and this is no exception.
It's heavy, has aluminum construction, adjustable weight, competitive DPI compared to other products in this range, and the buttons, etc. have a satisfying click.
The Corsair desktop software has a bit of a learning curve, but if you put a little time into it or look up some tutorials, you'll get the hang of it.
I would buy this again.
(It goes great with my K95 RGB).

It has pretty much all of the same features as the Monster produces Best Buy so faithfully sells, but it costs about half the price.
I wanted a protector with > 3000j protection, RFI shielding, and a lot of outlets.
This isn't cheap, but it gets the job done, and I'd pay for one of these over a bunch of fried components any day.
