Great option for at home hair removal treatment

I have had laser hair removal treatments done on my body for over a decade and became accustomed to scheduling of multiple appointments to treat specific areas as well as the overwhelming cost involved with doing so. I recently decided to start exploring at home options for my spouse and I when I came across the new Braun IPL i-Expert Home Hair removal device. The Skin i-Expert was designed for at-home use and promises hair removal with smart features to make the process both safe and effective.
Prior to making the investment, we looked into the IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, technology in comparison to what dermatologists or salons use to perform laser hair removal by a licensed professional. IPL uses broad-spectrum light to target melanin (the pigment) in our hair follicles. When the light energy is absorbed by the hair, it converts to heat, which then disables the follicle’s ability to produce new hair. Over multiple sessions, this process can dramatically reduce hair growth, leaving skin smoother for longer periods than traditional methods like shaving or using hair removal lotion. IPL is much more gentle on the skin than a painfully hot, single wavelength, laser and can be suitable for a broader range of body areas so it sounded like this device could replace our laser hair removal treatments and, in the long run, save us a ton of money in comparison.
Out of the box the Braun Skin IPL i-Expert looks and feels similar to other hair removal devices I have used in the past. The hardware feels durable and comfortable while using it and attached power cable is long enough to use in most situations around our house including the bathroom, bedrooms or living areas. The kit includes several attachment heads including a standard head, wide head and two precision heads. The kit and convenient carrying/storage case includes a regular razer handle with one replacement head to prepare the area you wish to use the device on. There are two buttons on the top of the Skin i-Expert, one to adjust the power of the light and the other to initiate the light for use and sync with the smart phone application.
During use, the Skin Sensor Technology automatically assesses your skin tone to ensure safe and effective treatment and won’t work unless you have it correctly positioned over a skin area to prevent the risk of burns or irritation. If you have ever had laser hair removal, you know how painful the “zap” can be therefore the use of the Skin i-Expert is much less painful however is still hot enough to feel the effects and heat of the light it produces. The companion app offers tailored schedules, reminders and step-by-step instructions for beginner users. I was able to do both my arms in less than ten minutes and, after setting the customization up through the app, it reminded me a few days later that it was time to treat that area again.
It should be highlighted that the Braun i-Expert works best on people with light to medium skin tones and darker hair as the technology relies on the contrast between the pigment in the hair and the skin. Unfortunately, I don’t believe it will work, or doesn’t work as well, for those with very dark skin or very light, red, grey, or white hair. The skin sensor and app help enhance safety by preventing use on unsuitable skin tones and I would recommend reviewing the compatibility chart before making the investment.
Overall, the Braun IPL Skin i-Expert home hair removal device already seems to be a good investment for our needs as we have both already seen results after a short period of use. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in a similar situation to ours and overall wanting to save some money; it will pay for itself after only a few uses.

Great innovation and blend of technology and sport

The huupe Smart Mini Basketball Hoop is a welcome addition to the standard electronic gaming platforms we’ve all become accustomed to over the past four decades. Incredible Performance, Lightweight Design and AI

Over the years, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 line has been one of my favorite laptops/notebooks due to its lightweight size and their ability to pack as much tech inside them as humanly possible without sacrificing performance and their latest release does not disappoint. Packed with cutting-edge technology, including the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, this notebook is designed to deliver exceptional performance for both gamers and creators.
Perhaps the biggest standout feature, in my opinion, is the fact that the tech wizards behind the scenes were somehow able to pack the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card with 16GB GDDR7 RAM into a notebook of this size. The NVIDIA RTX 5080 powerhouse is already known for handling anything gaming related as well as tackling large scale design and creator projects that require dedicated graphics memory. With its ray-tracing abilities, which provide realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections in games, it can display the true potential of high-end games at maximum graphics settings without “batting an eye”. Couple that power with the latest AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor with 12 cores and 24 threads which integrates AI capabilities and incredibly fast processing speeds, and you’re able to optimize any performance or task based on your needs. The overall design of the latest Zephyrus G14 is aesthetically similar to that of previous generations with its nonchalant, non-flashy looks with the exception of ASUS’ customizable LED AniMe Matrix diagonal light bar on the lid. However, we all know what’s inside is more important (awwwww 😊) and the sleek and compact design, featuring a magnesium-aluminum chassis that is both lightweight and durable, makes it highly portable without sacrificing performance. The keyboard is designed with gamers in mind with several convenient shortcut buttons specific to the ASUS ROG line as well as for Microsoft’s Co-pilot AI. The backlit keyboard and smooth touchpad also provide a comfortable and responsive experience without noisy, clicky buttons.
You can’t have all the high-end specs listed above without pairing it with an incredible display as it would defeat the purpose. Therefore, the Zephyrus G14 sports a 14-inch 3K OLED ROG Nebula display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which ensures crisp, colorful and fluid visuals providing incredible detail and ultimately making your gaming experience even more immersive. If you require an additional or larger screen, there is an HDMI port located on the left side of the rig next to one of its two USB-C ports, one USB-A port and audio jack.
Something worth mentioning is the G14’s ability to keep the rig cool when cranking out all this power. I specifically mention this as in some of their previous models the heat became an issue of mine as well as the fan noise. Both of these issues have clearly been addressed as I have not experienced any heat as much as the previous model I used and the fan noise is relatively minor in comparison as well. This is due to Asus's latest innovative cooling system, which includes liquid metal thermal compound on the CPU, multiple heat pipes, 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans, and Tri-Fan Technology all reducing temperatures up to 13 degrees to ensure the notebook remains cool even during intense gaming sessions, preventing thermal throttling and maintaining optimal performance.
One of my gripes from the previous G14 line was the battery life, or lack thereof, due to only having so much space to work with in a smaller notebook. Ultimately, this led me to go back to a larger laptop in the interim because of the larger battery and longer life. Using the latest technology, the new ROG Zephyrus G14 offers better, longer lasting battery life, up to 10 hours on a single charge obviously depending on usage.
Something I typically am never impressed with on laptops or notebooks is the audio and usually just resort to headphones. Recently I’ve noticed many manufacturers have really stepped up their sound game and the new G14 does just that. Believe it or not, they were somehow able to pack in six speakers on both sides of the keyboard firing directly at the user with Dolby Atmos and able to produce up to a whopping 252% volume increase compared to prior models and 100Hz bass frequency. It even has AI noise cancellation and a 3D mic array for gamers and streamers. I was blown away at how loud this notebook was so I wanted to make note of that for consumers.
While the new Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is considered as a premium gaming notebook, and its price reflects the advanced technology and features it offers, I honestly believe it would be well worth the investment considering it should be able to keep up with the competition and newly released AAA games for a few years before considering upgrading. I would recommend the latest G14 gaming notebook to anyone in the market for a portable gaming experience, 3D designers or content creators.

Incredible 360 video and photographs made easy

After relying on the original version of the GoPro Max 360 camera, which was released years ago, I was excited to see how GoPro could improve on its already impressive, stand apart from any competition, 360-degree action camera. Full disclosure, after owning and using the original Max 360, I have never bothered going back to the old-school, 2-dimensional, action cameras for several reasons; obviously, the main one being that it has the ability to record literally everything around you. It really is a fun feature when traveling and being able to show others when you return all the great memories and your legitimate first person point of view either on your regular display or, if you really want to be immersed in the scene, with a Virtual Reality headset which is mind-blowing and transformative; once you witness it, it’s hard to go back to old technology. Using the built-in immersive 360 audio is also really incredible to witness in 360 VR as combining the video along with the sound really makes you feel like you are part of the action.
In my opinion, the best technological feature is the ability for this tiny camera to produce insanely crystal clear 5.6K 360-degree video even though it is only 30 frames per second. Switching to the single lens video mode you can record 1440p video at 60 frames per second. When recording or taking 16.6MP pictures in 360 mode, I highly recommend using the GoPro handheld camera pole as the Max 360 has software built into it that automatically eliminates the pole when viewing the video.
We recently took our new camera on a beach vacation and our oldest daughter loved using the Max 360 under the water to capture footage and being able to view it later on her tablet via the GoPro app. The Max 360 is encased in a waterproof shell and can be used up to 16 feet deep and is durable enough to withstand other extreme environments just like other GoPro cameras. The great thing about the Max 360 is you do not need a separate waterproof case, like many other action cameras, which is another reason why I won’t return to older technology.
For those that have never used a GoPro camera, their stabilization software is remarkable in comparison to other cameras I have used and can eliminate shakes, bumps or jitters for smooth video even in the most action-worthy conditions such as videoing someone wake surfing off the back of a boat or riding a mountain bike down a steep hill. Using the GoPro Quik app, which is also a must have, the software is able to track a specific object or subject even in extremely shaky conditions.
Using the camera is relatively simple and easy to understand with minimal reliance on the user guide as it mostly uses the touchscreen to select specific features combined with a few buttons, including the power and capture buttons, around the camera shell as you would find on most cameras. You can swipe left, right, up and down for other features and settings and by simply tinkering with it any amateur photographer can figure it out in no time. Being a GoPro, it is just as versatile as their other cameras with a quick mount collapsible option on the bottom of the camera that you can use to attach to an abundance of separate mounts including helmet mounts, pole mounts, stick on or suction mounts, etc.
The Max 360 comes with a removable rechargeable battery that you can easily swap out and usually provides over an hour of power. I highly recommend investing in a high-end MicroSD memory card that has the fastest read and write speeds worthy of capturing high quality video otherwise you’ll be paying to upgrade later like I initially did after frustratingly viewing stuttering 360 video footage of our previous vacation using our last camera.
Considering the technology packed into the new GoPro Max 360 camera combined with its ability to expand any photographers’ imagination, I highly recommend investing into the 360 action camera generation to anyone in this market as I know from experience you won’t regret it once you get your hands on it and see what it’s capable of capturing.

A decent option for beginner drone pilots

As an amateur photographer and being experience with using mid to high-end drones to capture some of the best footage of my travels and family adventures for the past few years, I was recently considering investing into something a little smaller and lightweight compared to the drone I currently use for several reasons. The main reason being I have nearly crashed or lost the high-end drone I had been using a few times, mostly over the water or in deep woods where I may not ever recover it, and after that I would have preferred to be in the position of potentially being out of a few hundred dollars versus a few thousand dollars. The other reason being the high-end drone I rely upon can’t squeeze into the tight spaces I have tried to get through, it’s not exactly easy to travel with a larger, heavier drone and it’s not always convenient to bust out the VR headset on my smaller drone or want to tote around or use a VR headset. That’s where the new Snaptain P30 Pro drone with a 4K camera and GPS came into the rescue in my situation. The P30 Pro has everything I wanted in a drone including its smaller, lighter size, being more convenient to travel and all at a fraction of what I paid for a higher-end drone a few years ago which is great for a drone pilot’s peace of mind. Because of its portability, and why not, I decided to take it to Cancun for its inaugural flight and testing for this review.
Out of the box, the Snaptain P30 Pro has a four-prop brushless motor design and is surprisingly lightweight yet still durable enough to withstand some minor impact. All four propeller arms are foldable making it compact and easy to transport in the included protective case that you can store the included spare propeller blades, charging cradle and cable. The matching matte gray controller looks and feels like the drone itself and sports most of the controls and features you would see on other drones. However, a welcome feature on the Snaptain is the LED screen on the front of the controller that displays many convenient specs you would typically have to see on your smartphone application including speed, distance, height, GPS signal, battery life, etc. After a quick battery charge, downloading the smartphone applications and performing essential updates, I was able to sync the drone and controller to my phone and ready to give it a whirl in the paradise I was in.
The P30 Pro launched with ease, the controls were very responsive and the 4K video appeared crystal clear on my phone. I flew it over the beach, ocean, pool and resort we were staying at trying not to bother too many people trying to relax although I definitely got some “Karen” glares. I even did a couple low altitude flybys of our kids swimming in the infinity pool just to show off. Since the one included battery life is expected to last around 30 minutes before it needs to be charged or swapped out, I cut the initial flight short out of caution and after flying around for about ten minutes, I was easily able to navigate back to my launching point in front of our beach chairs and make a smooth landing. I immediately reviewed the footage I recorded on my smartphone which was very impressive. One thing I noticed during the flight in comparison to my other drone is that it doesn’t have as much stability in windy conditions which was also reflected in the video as it was a little shaky at times.
The Snaptain P30 Pro’s 4K UHD camera has a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels and can capture spectacularly detailed images and videos with its 120-degree wide-angle lens that allows for wider video and camera shots. Its advanced GPS navigation gives you very accurate and precise positioning, flight navigation and stability ensuring it maintains the intended flight path even in windy conditions as it was the day I tested it on the beach. This feature is particularly useful for beginner pilots, as it reduces the risk of losing control and enhances the overall safety of flying. One concern to be aware of for first time or beginner pilots is that the drone does not come equipped with any obstacle avoidance sensors or technology that can warn users of potential for an impact. As it is considered a beginner drone, the P30 also only travels less than a third of a mile away, has a maximum speed of a little more than 15 miles per hour and less than 10K meters above sea level so it can be relatively limited for some users.
Some additional useful features for beginner drone pilots is the P30 Pro’s ability to automatically return to “home”, or the launch location, in the event of a low battery or loss of signal. However, without obstacle avoidance sensors, I would be wary there’s a potential for it to crash into something back in route to the launch area. It has an altitude hold feature that can maintain the drone’s height, one-key takeoff/landing and is relatively easy to use once you get the hang of the controls.
Considering the Snaptain P30 Pro’s features, high-quality camera, and advanced GPS capabilities, the Snaptain P30 Pro offers decent value for your money. I would only recommend it to beginner drone pilots exploring whether they may eventually want to fork out more coin for something a bit higher-end with obstacle sensors and more speed and distance capabilities.

Huge sound in a small box

Like most of us nowadays, we have gone through several portable Bluetooth speakers over the years and finding something new and innovative that actually stands out in the saturated market of portable speakers can be somewhat difficult. And like many of us, the market can also be trial and error for whatever situation you might be in at that moment such as finding something that is loud and can fill a large space to finding a decent portable speaker that can be shoved in a backpack for travel at any given time. At this stage in the game I feel like we have mounds of portable speakers, some that have lasted years and some that ended up as paperweights because they just weren't up to the task whether that be because they no longer charge, didn't stand the test of time, the sound can be embarrassing for someone that has been an audiophile, like myself, their whole lives and many other reasons.
As it has been over a year now since the last time we looked into a portable speaker refresh, I was excited to hear about what Sony had in mind for their latest speaker drop since they have been one of the leaders in the industry since I was a kid back in the early '80s. In my case, I wasn't looking for something large or overpowering but more in the realm of something I could grab and take out by the pool or shove into a backpack. The speaker that stood out the most for what I was in the market for was it the Sony ULT Field 3 because it reminded me of an old school boombox, you know the type that '80s kids used to put on their shoulders and walk around blasting music with their shades on and hats backwards, plus I’m a sucker for anything even somewhat retro 80s. I also knew that if it was anything like how Sony’s headphones sound, which are my go to headphones, I knew I would be in for a treat.
Out of the box, the ULT Field 3 speaker is what you would expect from Sony; it is durable, well crafted, easy to set up and use and huge with sound and depth. The included strap was easy to install and can also be removed just as easily. It’s also very convenient to use and tote around instead of holding onto just a speaker which can be somewhat clumsy. After an initial charge, I was easily able to sync the ULT Three via Bluetooth and the Sony Sound Connect smartphone application. According to the specs, the battery can last up to 24 hours which is a great feature not available in many other small portable speakers. There was a update that needed to be downloaded and installed and after that I was able to start rocking!
As expected, the sound was incredible with the option for Sony’s bass boost technology using the ULT button on the top of the speaker. It may not be as crystal clear as some other portable speakers I have used in the past but those also sacrificed the deep bass sound for more clear highs. The ULT Field 3 powers bass out both sides and, thanks to the two way active driver design, you can see the side passive radiators pounding in and out to every beat which is something you don’t see in smaller speakers. It has an IP67 water and dust proof rating meaning you don’t have to worry about it getting damaged near the pool or on the beach. Through the Sony app, you can also pair the ULT Field 3 to play in sync with other speakers using Party Connect or Stereo Pair.
Overall, the ULT Field 3 ended up being the perfect fit and option for what I was looking for. Its sound is impressive and, combined with its size and style, is sure to stand out in a crowd of other portable speaker competitors and I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a speaker of this size.

A great option for ice cream and yogurt creations

Ninja’s latest small kitchen appliance, the new Swirl by Cremi, comes out just in time for warmer weather and is a fun option to do with the kiddos or experiment with the plethora of warm weather treats you can create with this machine. After being talked into a Cremi machine by a friend of ours who just raves about it, I was eager to explore the capabilities of our new appliance and made a specific trip to the grocery store just to stock up on ingredients I pulled from the included recipe book including dried yogurt, chocolate chips, protein powder, amongst other required ingredients.
After getting the ingredients, unpacking the Swirl, and setting everything up, I immediately took notice of its bulky, heavy and awkward shape and immediately brainstorming as to where I was going to store it. I imagine others may run into the same problem searching for cabinet space so keep that in mind. The machine does feel and appear to be made out of high-quality materials ensuring durability, hence its bulk and weight, which I’m hoping means it will last us for years to come.
There was definitely a learning curve to set it up, understand how it works and what you’ll need to start making frozen treats. There is a convenient QR code you can scan to watch a video and links to recipes to explore prior to use as well as the aforementioned included recipe book for quick reference. Although the set-up, preparation and recipe discovery may seem a little overwhelming and time consuming initially, at least it was for me, once you get the hang of it it’s fairly simple and fun to experiment with. Its user-friendly interface and easy to understand control panel is straightforward with clearly marked buttons for various functions. It offers a range of functions, including yogurt, sorbet, and gelato preparation. Whether crafting classic vanilla ice cream or experimenting with fruit sorbets, protein powder, coffee beans, etc. the Ninja Swirl handles it all. The versatility extends to accommodating various dietary preferences, with settings for dairy-free, low-sugar, and vegan options. After several uses, the Ninja Swirl handled everything I threw at it delivering creamy, delicious frozen treats in minutes. Its powerful motor can blend added ingredients, like chocolate chips, to perfection and the consistency of the swirls was pretty impressive with a smooth texture.
Cleaning the Ninja Swirl is a breeze thanks to its removable parts that are dishwasher safe and the non-stick surfaces ensure minimal residue. Regular maintenance is simple, with clear instructions provided in the user manual. This ease of cleaning is a significant advantage, encouraging frequent use without the dread of post-preparation cleanup.
Obviously the most important part is the end result. I will precursor this by saying I do not have a sweet tooth however the rest of my family does. Ice cream has always been my go to for a sweet treat but I can never justify today’s prices at the grocery store nor the junk they put into our foods so I usually don’t entice buying anything for myself. That being said, I can honestly say by using the provided recipes it produced the best tasting ice cream I have ever had using clean ingredients out of our fridge and pantry; everyone that tasted it even agreed.
The Ninja Swirl is a game-changer for our household and ultimately will be providing us better quality foods and make up for the cost relatively quickly considering how much a pint of ice cream goes for now. While it has a few minor drawbacks with the size and preparation, the overall performance and quality far outweigh these. Whether you're health-conscious like my wife and I or a dessert lover like our kids, the Ninja Swirl is sure to impress.

Lots of suction in a convenient handheld vacuum

For those of us constantly on the go in our vehicles, whether it be chauffeuring the children to school, commuting back and forth to work, working on the road or whatever else causes havoc to the interior of your vehicle, having a handy dandy vacuum available for those times where that is the only option, the new Dyson car and boat handheld vacuum might be right up your alley. In my case, I already carry a variety of other cleaning and detail products in my truck, including a duster, wet wipes, microfiber clothes, lens wipes, etc. but had no means to get the crumbs and dust left behind by our minions and that’s personally why I was interested in the idea of also keeping a small handheld vacuum handy. I got tired of all the messes my children made in the backseat and being unable to clean it up without dismantling my home vacuum cleaner or busting out the shop vacuum, especially when you might end up with unexpected passengers and don’t want to face the embarrassment of a messy vehicle. My other interest in the Dyson handheld was because we also own a boat where the same messy issues happen, with or without kids, and have to wait until we get home before we can even start to vacuum up the messes left behind from a day on the lake.
Out of the box, the Dyson handheld was very easy to set up without any reliance on instructions. After a quick initial charge, I was ready to connect a cleaning nozzle and give it a whirl. Since it was raining outside at the time, I decided just to see how well it performed indoors on our carpeted stair which I typically try to keep clean on a daily basis with the amount of people and dog traffic we get in our house. Being that I had recently used our stick vacuum on the stairs I was mainly trying it just to see how the Dyson performed in comparison to our high-end stick vacuum, how much noise it made and how well it worked. Surprisingly, even though we had just recently vacuumed, this little handheld Dyson vacuum managed to suck up more dust and debris than I expected as the stairs already looked clean. The Dyson was ergonomically sound and balanced while using it and relatively light in comparison to using our stick vacuum. Emptying the dust bin was easy as well with a simple tug on the red labeled part on top and, voila, I was all done and ready for the truck test. After the days of rain finally stopped, I was ready to give the Dyson a shot at days’ worth of children traffic in-and-out of the back seat with dirty, wet shoes from school and golf practice. Typically, I will just wait to vacuum it until I can manage to get to the car wash and knock it out all at once however being able to vacuum the backseat in the interim made it much easier to maintain cleanliness. Using all three of the included attachments, I was able to vacuum up the seats, floorboards, mats, carpet and in between all the tight spaces with ease and still have enough battery left to do the same cleaning at least another time. Thankfully I have a regular plug in my truck and boat but it would have been nice for others that don’t to include a car power adapter in this kit.
Having a dedicated handheld vacuum that is small enough to fit under the back seat of my truck is a game changer for me in our busy lives and even more convenient when we take out the boat and have to clean up all the sand, gravel, smashed up chips on the floor, etc. on the go. And I can even delegate the chore to someone else, including the kids, while I button up all the other things that go along with boat life that many passengers don’t know about, however, everyone knows how to use a vacuum.

In the competitive world of gaming peripherals, I’ll admit, I have always been partial to the Razer brand as it has been around for almost as long as I’ve been gaming and they are always on the cutting edge with the latest technology. Their latest product, the Razer Freyja Sensa HD Haptic Gaming Chair Cushion, promised to elevate my gaming experience to an even more immersive experience by being able to feel and sense what is going in the game including the recoil of a gunshot in shooters, rumble of an engine in racing games or crumbling of a building around you in an adventure game.
From the moment you unbox the Razer Freyja Sensa HD, you can immediately see and feel the quality you would expect from Razer brand peripherals ensuring durability and comfort. The outer cover is made of a breathable mesh fabric that not only feels luxurious but also aids in heat dissipation for those of you who run hot, like me. The cushion's inner foam material, like a soft memory foam, provides much more comfort than most gaming chairs I have used which can be quite hard and uncomfortable after time.
The Freyja Sensa was easy to set up by securing the cushion to my Razer Iskur X gaming chair using three straps and is compatible with most other computer/gaming chairs as well. After plugging the cushion into a power outlet and the included USB dongle, Razer’s Cortex software automatically recognized the Freyja Sensa game cushion and it integrated flawlessly with the plethora of Razer products I already use including the matching gaming chair, Viper 3 Pro mouse, BlackWidow V4 Pro gaming keyboard, Nommo V2 Pro speakers, Kraken V3 Pro headphones and the Thunderbolt Dock. You can even connect the cushion to other devices, like your smartphone or tablet, via Bluetooth and it will sync to the audio of music or movies you are watching or listening to.
Obviously, the standout feature of the cushion is the multi-directional haptic feedback technology which you can find in some of Razer’s other products, like their headphones, which can sync the vibration sensations directly with compatible games or using audio within any game, movie or music. The cushion is integrated with motors and sensors that deliver vibrations that synchronize with in-game, music or movie events. Within Razer’s software, you can customize the haptic feedback to your preferences, basically how intense you prefer the vibrations to be. After using it for some time in a loud adventure game, the cushion really acted like a massage chair synced to whatever I was doing within the game. There are some pre-set profiles for popular games that you can select which was very convenient instead of having to tinker around with the settings too much.
The Razer Freyja Sensa HD Haptic Gaming Chair Cushion is another weapon in their large arsenal of gaming peripherals catering to gamers who want a more immersive experience. I would definitely recommend the Freyja Sensa HD gaming cushion to other gamers and, considering the technology and innovation behind the cushion, feel the price point is right where it should be. I can’t wait to see what Razer has in store next.

Quick and easy PC or laptop storage upgrade

One of the best, and easiest, upgrades you can do to any PC or laptop is adding or swapping out the hard drive(s) and/or SSD(s) with whatever the latest technology is. And that’s why the latest Samsung 2TB EVO Plus SSD was immediately on my radar while starting to upgrade my most recent PC gaming rig. Specifically, in my case, I was looking to just add an additional SSD to my rig and double my storage and not use it to run my OS and other applications. After using my external SSD drive enclosure and Samsung’s Magician hardware, I was quickly able to initiate the drive and get it ready for installation. If you are looking to replace a drive, perhaps one with your OS on it, the free Magician software makes it very easy to clone that drive prior to installation.
After installing the new EVO Plus in my PC using the pre-existing SSD slot, I was ready to get started by loading a few PC games onto the drive and give it a whirl with some benchmark testing. I ran a few performance benchmarks on the drive and, long story short, it performed as expected and landed mostly in the middle of the pack alongside other SSDs at this price point. However, some comparisons had the new EVO Plus measuring below but very close to the Pro or EVO non-Plus versions including the quick system benchmarks. Overall, it’s honestly not something anyone would be able to notice if running load times side by side but it was worth noting. It is a hybrid drive meaning it can be used as a PCIe Gen 4.0 x 4 or swap it to a Gen 5.0 x 2 getting more bandwidth on a Gen 5 slot but leaving more lanes open speeding up your PC. It does claim read speeds of up to 7,250 MB/s however I was never able to get it up to that speed but pretty close which is typical for any drive with normal benchmark testing. And, the bottom line is you’ll probably never even have the ability or need for such speeds years from now until the rest of technology can catch up.
Some of the main reasons for selecting the new EVO Plus SSD versus other options was simply preference. I have had several Samsung SSDs in the past that I have used in my PCs, laptops and gaming consoles and have never had any issues with them like crashing, corrupted files or read/write lag. Perhaps one of the main reasons to consider the EVO Plus is because of the price point and ability to squeeze out more bang (or storage) for your buck as it is a little more moderately priced compared to PRO SSD versions.
Overall I believe the new Samsung EVO Plus SSD is a great options for anyone in the market for a quick and easy upgrade that will perform well under most circumstances including gaming, content creating, designing, etc.

It should sense that it's no longer on a hard floor and go in reverse. I would suggest picking up any rugs before you set it to clean so it cleans under the rugs.
