It mimics the traditional controller's looks, and its buttons are in an identical configuration so game play is the same. D-PAD DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY

Verified Purchase:Yes

D-pad not working right out of the box. Did not register inputs correctly. Buttons seemed to work, but the broken d-pad makes games unplayable on the NES Classic.

Best Buy needs to pull this from the shelves, as it is a defective product. I returned this the same day.

How close is this to the original controllers that come with the unit in terms of feel/response? 3rd Party Controllers are often hit or miss, and often because it feels so different. Thank you!

The controller is terrible. D-pad is defective. Do not purchase this.
