Perfect for the mom-in-law to drop her land line

My mother in law had a land line that we wanted to replace with a cell phone, but she's too elderly to understand how to use a cell. We were able to get her on a cheap cell plan, and tether a cheap flip phone to this with bluetooth. This worked great, because her original land line had gone out, and they told us it would be 2 weeks to fix. Easy to use phone, and the voice that speaks the caller ID is a great addition as well.

Going from a GoPro Hero+ with a separate Zoom H2 audio recorder, I couldn't be happier. A lot of options to get just the right setup for video AND audio in one package. Pro tip - if you are concerned with battery life, get a portable USB battery pack and plug it in. Mine has been tested with a 2400 mAh (I think) pack and it ran perfect for over 5 hours straight (till it filled up the SD card). My only wish thus far is lower bitrate audio options to save space, and the fact it records to MOV files - so conversion is necessary to get to the more standard MP4. Small issues though, for a fantastic device!

Does the blue tooth technology interface with a cell phone without having to have a land line?
Yes it does, and it works great! My mother in law had a land line that constantly had issues, and took forever to get repairs. We set her up on a cheap add to my cell plan, picked up a $20 prepaid flip phone, connected it with no problem. We just hide the cell away and as far as she knows, she still has her normal phone plan.

How come I can't hear the sound when I play video play back on my computer? I can see the video but no sound.
Your computer doesn't have the correct audio codec installed. A codec is like a driver for various audio and video formats. You can use an app like VLC to play the videos as it will support a great deal of different codecs, or you can install the correct code driver. Search Google to find out more on codecs, and look for an app called Media info to show you what codecs a file is encoded with. Hope this helps.

is it compatible with Windows 10?
The side of the box says it will work for Windows XP,Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1. I'm assuming it will work with windows 10 but just want to make sure before I open the package. Will I have any issue since I took the hard drive out of my laptop that was running on Windows 7 and will plug it into my new new laptop running Windows 10?
Yes it is - I use it daily on my laptop with Windows 10 Home.
