Due to a job opportunity, we move to another state. We decided to not get cable or satellite TV, so 2 of our 3 TVs were sitting idle. When we saw the adds for the Roku SE going on sale for Black Friday, I looked into the product, but being a new item, there were no reviews. However, from the description it sounded like it would be just like the Roku 1, which had very good reviews. I got two Roku SE at half price on Black Friday and we have been enjoying them very much. 2 for the price of one Roku 1; you can't beat that deal!

Good replacement for lost adapter

I got this adapter because ours stopped working, but I didn't realize that it wouldn't work with the Traffic information feature of my GPS. Unfortunatelly I had to return it and get one directly from Garmin, since Best Buy doesn't carry the one with the Traffic Info feature. I would recommend to someone that does not need the Traffic Info feature.

I have a first generation FireTV Stick and it will not recognize my K830 keyboard. However, I also have a first generation FireTV (the little box), and it works great with it. I can't comment on any of the newer generation FireTV (or Stick), since I don't own one.

What's the difference between Amazon firestick & chromecast?
The Fire TV Stick is a self-contained streaming device; it only requires a Wi-Fi connection to the internet to stream media to your TV or monitor. The Chromecast requires a separate device, like your computer, an electronic table or smart phone to send the streaming content to it, before it can be viewed on your TV or monitor.

I'm reading that you need Wifi to use this. What if you don't have Wifi or a wireless rotor?
If you don't have a Wi-Fi connection from either a modem/wireless router combo, or stand-alone wireless router, you will not be able to use the Fire TV Stick, since it is the only way it can connect to the internet. There is a USB port on it, but it only works to power the unit.

You get the Fire TV Stick, a remote control, a USB power adapter, a USB connector cable and an HDMI extension cable. I recommend that you use the HDMI extension cable, as it makes it easier to connect the Fire TV Stick to the TV's HDMI connector, and it helps it get a better Wi-Fi signal.

Do you have to download channels before use or are there things on the fire stick prior to setting up? Someone is charging 40.00 to download channels.
There are channels already loaded to the Fire TV Stick, however, they're mostly Amazon Prime channels, which you would need to pay for the Amazon Prime service to access. If you want to watch other channels, you should be able to add them the same way you add channels to a smart TV or blue-ray player.
