I have been comparing these headphones to B&W PX and Sennheiser's HD1. Build: B&Ws have the best quality build, but the Sony is still very comfortable and light weight compared to the other two. Controls: I found the Sennheisers easiest to use and the B&W controls the most frustrating. The Sony controls are simple to use (touch control on the right ear cup). The downloadable app for the Sony is a HUGE plus that the Sennheiser doesn't have and the B&W app is very limited. Battery: They are all good to me...anything over ten hours and I'm happy; so I am not sure which headphones last the longest. Noise Cancelling: I really don't care about this feature either. Having said that, it is easy to tell that the Sonys have the best noise cancelling (comparable to the Bose if not better). Comfort: They are all comfortable and it's really not an issue for any of the headphones I use. If I had to pick, I would say the Sonys are the most comfortable. SOUND: sound quality and cutting the cord are really the only reasons I bought all of these headphones. The B&Ws have the clearest, and most detailed sound - but it's the soundstage the is most impressive with the B&Ws. If you are a bass hungry listener I would definitely get the Sonys and avoid the B&Ws. The sennheisers are the best of both worlds, accurate and well balanced and clear mid to bass. I find myself wearing the Sennheisers the most. For acoustic, live jazz, and some classical music I use the B&Ws. For music I want to pull a lot of bass out of I will use the Sonys. For everything else I use the sennheisers. So, the Sony 1000x mk2 headphones are a very good all rounder for the price (being the least expensive of the three). It wins out on comfort and noise cancelling, but is very close in sound quality as well.

I own Audeze E8, Sennheiser HD1, psb speakers, and Bose QC 30 and 35. The Sennheisers and PSB are same price point, so that's what I am comparing the PXs to. I mostly care about the sound so, yes they look cool and the build quality is good. The controls are adequate. Battery life is good. Sound: they are accurate and have a very good sound stage. BUT they sound "tinny" when you first try them. The ear cups feel like you have large cups on your ears. I've been told they have to be broken in first (30 hours or so). The lower mids and lows are week but accurate so a little equalizing or effects can help. YES the noise cancelling diminishes the quality of the music. The sennheisers are better at covering the entire dynamic range (better at mid lows and lows). I find myself using the HD1s more because they are a better "all rounder". But the PXs are better at acoustic and classical music where accuracy is better appreciated. I hope the bass will be more prevalent when they are broken in. I wouldn't buy these without first listening to the Sennheiser HD1 cans. Hope this helps.

I also have the Samsung gear s3 watch for comparison. Obviously if u have an Apple phone the Apple Watch is the best bet. Positives: waterproof and integration with iPhone. Negatives: no cellular ability and limited watchfaces. The gear S3 is water resistant (I have been swimming with it but Samsung says not to). The gear S3 has tons of watch faces could spend hours customizing. My S3 also has cellular ability that works very well whether it’s incoming calls or calling out.

I have owned many earbuds: all jbirds, sennheiser, etymotic, bose qc 20, apple, shure se846, and more. I used the jbirds mostly because they had the best combination of portability, battery life, and of course sound quality. The qc30s have surpassed jbird in sound quality for sure. They rival much more expensive earphones. If you already own the qc20, then you would just be adding wireless with these headphones. So they are essentially bluetooth qc20s. Battery life has been pretty good, but not quite as good as the jbirds (about 7 hours or so). Microphone and controls are what you would expect. But you can turn up (or down) the noise cancelling. However, I always keep the noise-cancelling on max because they just sound better that way...they really seem to lose sound quality when you turn the noise cancelling off. The neck ring doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. If you ride a motorcycle these are a must have. BUT you have to wear your helmet. The open design of the "stay hear" tips don't work well with wind blowing directly on them. But with the helmet, A LOT of wind and engine noise is reduced. So, these have become my everyday headphones. I like bluetooth, battery life, noise-cancellation, and most of all sound quality. Hope this helped.

After paying for cracked screens and trashing iPods,iPhones, ipads, lifeproof did the trick. Protects the screen, protects on small drops, and protects from water damage. Haven't found anything that gives that much protection.
